Thread: Need Some help on becoming a Pistoleer

Im master fencer/brawler/swordsman and 2x4x medic and i would like to know what skills should i drop to get master pistoleer and get the pistols line in BH and smuggler. I like to pvp and pve and i know i would have to drop either fencer or swordsman so any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

to get master pistoleer, 0040 BH, and 0040 smuggler, you would need to drop all of your skills :/


for future reference try out character builders, very helpful tools they are

Yo dude, just for some advice.... my template is BH 2040, Pist 2442, Fencer 0440. I do very well in PvP.


Despite what you hear, the BH/Pistols/SmugglerDirtyFighting template has very poor defenses.


The only good special from Smuggler is Last Ditch. I find that nothing, not even LD, can beat the offensive power of mindshot (BH skill).


Panic Shot is a ranged version of Warcry.


Low Blow is worthless in my opinion because so many people have such high Def. vs Dizzy or take Thatkillo. It is much much easier to just use Suppression Fire from novice marksman. It is a posture change and is just as effective at stopping an enemy or making sure he/she flops with a dizzy applied to them.


Feign Death is of questionable use in PvP as FD'ing in combat with armor on is the equivalent to being wound/BF griefed and your armor completely destroyed.


Take those valuable points you'd use on Smuggler and keep 0440 in fencer. With your fencer skills you'll have melee mitigation 2, insane Defenses vs States, warcry, and intimidate. You can even intimidate someone with a pistol equiped. The intimidate from brawler I value much more over the stun in Last Ditch.


It is hard as hell to Dizzy/KD me, so that means that I can fly right up in anyone's face.. dancing around them while I pelt their noggin with my gun.


Just restating.. the smuggler specials have been nerfed to uselessness and/or are redundant with skills that are IMO more effective from novice marksman/brawler. Gaining Last Ditch is not worth the absolutely AMAZING state defenses you can gain from fencer.

Every good pvp template has a ranged master, melee master, and medic. The template listed above only has ranged and melee mitigation 2 which is not very good, you may be hard to KD but you are taking more damage standing up just to make sure you don't get kd'ed. With a melee and a ranged master you are protected in both areas and you can switch weapons too whoever you are fighting. If you are fighting an all ranged guy then use melee on him because he has no mitigation, same for all melee guys. If you get some pistol speed attachments you would be way better off than getting BH. Eyeshot isnt that amazing. Last ditch is the best pistol special in game period. That fencer/bh/pistoleer template wouldn't be able to touch a jedi either.
