I look at my combat window to determine what damage I am doing.
Should I be looking at the floaty numbers instead?
I primarily use a DX2, and all the talk about RB being a better weapon got me thinking....

There are more factors that go into a "good" weapon than just damage. The Rep Blaster has decent damage but its range mods are fantastic.
And yes, use the floaty numbers because combat spam lies.

Combat spam = base damage
Floaty numbers = actual damage after armour and resist is taken out.

I dunno about you, but I could never read the floaty damage, no matter what it was set on. I just shoot at it till it's dead.
Floaty damage is crap in my opinion.

take in effect what you are shooting...protection and armor has a big effect...I was shooting seething bol crushers with medium armorand using dx2 and RP and getting hardly any damage to them so I switched to fwg5 with no ap and killed them like flies..Koonta

I try to watch the floaty damage, but my pet specials get in the way so it's hard to see ![]()
Needs to be an option to move all that stuff to the combat window:
You use Fan Shot on Slinking Voritor Hunter and hit for 890/1100 points of damage!
You use Fan Shot on Slinking Voritor Hunter and hit for 590/890 points of damage!
First number is actual, 2nd number is total.
I don't see why they can't code that.

You may have them turned off in your interface. There is a checkbox somewhere.
Or is it that you shoot too fast to be able to read them?

Koonta thats because seethings are vulnerable to heat based weapons. The FWG5 is a heat weapon. Each animal has its on strengths and weaknesses. If you were a scout you could see these weaknesses with /exam. I carry a FWG5 , Republic blaster, scout blaster, abd DX2 all the time. Retiring my scout though since I rarely use it since I bought my republic.

I can't see my floaties because there's a mix of numbers and -body hit-/-leg hit- or whatever and they don't seem to float up, just overwrite each other.
