Thread: PvP choices of weapons as a pistoleer

What can you guys suggest as the basic choice for PVP pistols?


not krayt uber ones just bog standard sliced pistols.


Not many on my server ar wearing uber composite yet so what do i need damage per shot or speed or both.


DX2 ? its +to hit is absolutley **edit** over 2m or something silly, and thats our special class defining weapon? this has to be bugged?


Am i forced to use Republican blaster and an fwg5/Scout? is this all the choice i have

As a Master Pistoleer here is what I end up doing:


Uses for the FWG5: For those players who have no armor on, and you want to take out quickly. Not good for buffed players because if its low damage. Great for speed.


Uses for the Republic Blaster: Great for players with armor. Has the AP1 that can counter the actual AP, but might not counter the resistances. Good for players with buffs, because it does the most damage. Slow though.


Uses for Scout Blaster: I have no uses for the Scout Blaster. The FWG5 and Republic Blaster work fine for me. (I use the Republic Blaster and Stopping Shot because I have a 2.4 Speed Republic Blaster with all the speed mods from Master Pistoleer.)

Dont forget the Tangler: yes its the worst pistol as far as speed and damage go but against 80% composite its the only one that does close to full damage.


The DX2 has uses for when people are acid vulnerable.


The FWG5 is the stand by for most pistoleers becuase it has a good speed and decent damage even after the nerf its still one of the best.


The Republic is becoming very popular becuase it does good damage and its ar1.


Personally I havea Krayt enhanced DL44 for non armoured players it does 76 -201 damage speed 1.4 without powerups. It looks cool and with last ditch and good speed its a nasty combo.

I use the dx2 for close range and the fwg5 for 20m+

If you don't have krayt enhanced, then I'd suggest getting a good FWG5 and Republic Blaster and a crate of 32 max/16 min powerups. Use the FWG5 for most opponents, and the Republic Blaster for armored opponents. If you can find a Republic Blaster with similar speed to an FWG5, then I would recommend using it against any opponent, as the AR1 gives a bonus to damage to those not wearing armor.


Personally, I use a krayt enhanced Republic Blaster. I mainly use Fan Shot, since it's faster than Stopping Shot. Even at 1.5 speed, I'm only able to fire Stopping Shot about once every 2 seconds, as opposed to roughly one shot per second with Fan Shot. I can take out an armored opponent in 3 or 4 shots if he does not heal.

dont republic blasters get very very nice max range modifiers?

mine's +0min/+0ideal/+0max...
