Why even bother with panic shot if your going to fan shot immiedetly afterwards? The delay will only last for all of a second. A few months ago I would do the same thing your doing...but in the current state of the game, your just wasting a combat round.

is the lastditch dps higher than the fanshot one ?

The short answer is no, the long answer is that it depends. Last ditch has a higher damage multiplier, but is much slower. If you are operating at only 74 pistol speed, then in most instances fan shots dps will be higher. If you can acquire some +pistol speed attachments, then at some point last ditch does become better.

Another factor to consider is that last ditch is a single target random ham attack, where as fan shot has a cone attached to it. Sometimes the AoE element of fan shot will make it undesirable to use - based on your location and proximity to others. Also, last ditch stuns your target, which can be useful in many situations.

When I was a master smuggler...

/lowblow;

/panic shot;

/last ditch;

/suppressionfire1;

/last ditch;

....Wash, rinse, repeat. It worked great too.

then I use either a macro that spams healthshot2, or one that spams lastditch, depending on how my opponent and their HAM bars react I'm tweaking these macros every day, but this seems to work good in both pvp and pve.

amazing how many of these have less pistoleer specials and more smuggler specials.

We don't have time to discuss this in a committee.

When I was a Master Gunslinger (up until last night LOL), I used a healthshot2 spam and a /lowblow; /lastditch; /lastditch; /lastditch. I occasionally used PMD1, but once I got the dirty fighting tree in smuggler, I basically said sayanara to any and all pistoleer specials. Only reason I went Master was for the speed, accuracy (bleh), and defenses...Last ditch outdamages stoppingshot, fanshot is good for leveling and thats about it. Everything else is broken

If someone comes too close, through it MeleeDefense1, then go back to StoppingShot spam. (1.8 speed pistol with +86 pistol speed, by the way.)

Incidentally, +86 Pistol Speed is when LastDitch hits 1.0 speed with a 1.8 speed pistol, too.
