Thread: Some dueling advice please

Greetings,
I am almost at master and I need some advice before I really start the dueling circut.
What would you experienced guys/gals suggest for strategy and tactics when dueling other classes? I've done a little but I think my opponents have been going easy on me, lovely guys BTW
Please don't tell me things I don't need, like drop pistoleer or pick up more of this or that. I am a master dancer (will not be giving that up either so don't say it)
Do I expect to win every time? Of course not. But any help would be appreciated in the areas of tactics, specials, food, spice ect.
This is also for duels only not necessarily big PvP battles.

well you won't get far using only pistoleer ... most classes will wipe the floor with you. If you want to duel which no matter how you look at it is PvP you will need either some BH pistols or Rouge in smuggler ... I prefer Rouge as it uses WAY less skill points. Last Ditch and Low Blow I think is what you get and they are very effective. Without these pistoleer and pvp should never meet.

Well you need to pick up a sonic pistol thats crafted or a really nice looted one. If you get a 1.6 speed one you can spam fanshot at the speed cap of 1.0. Should probably use fanshot if you have fast guns but you could possibly go damage sliced and use healthshot2. I havent been a straight pistoleer for a while so i'm not quite sure what is more effective now. But if you don't have any pistol speed tapes than stoppingshot is not for you, although others will tell you the opposite. Depending on who your fighting use pistol melee defense1 on them to try and get a KD right off the bat. But if you are fighting someone that has more than 50 kd defense i would just go stright for the damaging specials.

Here is the only advice I can give you.
1. Get good comp armor, in the 80-90% range. Also make sure you have a Stun helmet...you will need this against riflemen, BH-Pisol Combos, and Fencers.
2. Wear a PSG..preferably one with stun.
3. Eat 1 Citrus Snow Cake, 1 Synth Steak, 1 Canape, and drink 2 Brandy. You will have high focus, lots of damage mitigation, and increased accuracy.
4. Use a Geno Blaster. Everyone will have adequate protection for any other gun you use.
4. If fighting Melee, stay at least 30m away; use health shot 2 and fan shot (stopping shot will be too slow for you with a geno blaster). DO NOT GET CLOSE
5. If fighting ranged, try and get in close and PMD1. If you knock em down, hope to land bleeds while they are down for the bigger tick, and stay close. Again just keep fan shotting and move in for the PMD1 once in a while
6. The obvious, make sure you are buffed for all stats.
To be honest, with pistoleer by itself, the only thing you may be able to beat it Carbineers, some BH's, bad Pikemen, and people with no combat professions. mcprimetime pretty much summed it up, but have some neutron pixies and muon golds on toolbar handy, that will help alot too.
