Seriously though,


Currently RIfleman have +90

Carbineers +65 ( i think)

Pistoleers +74


Now if RIfleman had +65

Pistoleers had +90

Carbineers had +74


I'm pretty sure the statement the devs made about elite ranged professions haveing equivalent dps would be pretty much on the mark. It just looks like they mixed them up as to where they go lol.

Carbine is 60. Well, if rifleman had 60 they'd fire sooooo damn slow with thier base speeds of 7.5. 90 Riflespeed is pretty alright, they dont fire at the speed cap, maybe 85, but the way the speed equation works is a +5 rifle speed tape can double your firing speed while a +5 carbine tape has a small effect. They should just make it fair and give everyone 90 speed.

Still wouldnt be fair as then we'd all hit the speed cap and rifleman would still dominate due to having higher damage weapons.


Rifleman have all the way up to ap3 weaponry meaning that they get bonus damage above and beyond what the weapon is rated for.


Pistoleers dont have anything above ap1 and therefore not only have lower damageing, slower, less accurate weapons but dont get any bonus damage either. Rifleman dont want us to have ap2 or ap3 pistols saying then they wouldnt be unique. Well you cant be faster, have higher damage, fire faster, fire more accurately, have awesome defense, and get AP damage bonus above and beyond everybody else, its not even remotely being reasonable.


SOE placed all the goodies in rifleman. Then on top of it all allowed them and them alone to target the WEAKEST ham pool in the game.

Oh and rifleman are supposed to fire SLOOOOOOW but hit HARD!


Pistoleers are supposed to fire FAAAAAAST but hit soft!


Carbineers are supposed to fire a little bit FAAAAAASTER than a riflemanbut hit a littleHARDER than a pistoleer


So rifles do hit HARD, so they got it half right


Carbineers hit a little harder than pistoleers, half right again


Pistoleers hit for the least, half right again.


The PROBLEM mainly how speed is distributed among the elite professions and you cannot balance them without modifying them all again. The way it is cant work unless you want pistoleers get more speed, more accuracy, and the same range of ap weapons as rifleman. If you dont i suggest you make some compromises. Rifleman are goint to lose something one way or the other. There is more than one route to accomplishing a balance but it will involve a nerf and it cant be avoided any way you slice it. What gets nerfed can be of your own choosing but if rifleman continue to argue on every front like Bhs did once upon a time and refuse to give any then dont cry when the bat swings.


Pistoleers dont want an i WIN button, we just want a fair shake and i dont think thats asking too much.


it simply isnt going to be accomplished without changing other professions to some degree. Reducing rifleman speed to 95 or even 80 isnt going to do it either as one speed tape would make them outclass carbineers and a little more they would be right back to beating pistoleers and then we might as well have done nothing to begin with. It has to be drastic enough to where speed tapes cannt bring you back to post level imbalance. Even at 100 pistol speed which is the very absolute fastest you can ever be, its a hard cap, you still wouldnt outdamage a rifleman at 90 rifle speed.

I think we just need to wait for the speed caps tobe changed. (Who knows when THAT will happen)

That's not true, I'm a rifleman, and I heavily advocated an AP2 pistol...



...the fact that I'm also a master Gunfighter is besides the point.

the problem is the speed equation....... i can't remember it exactly but i know it's on a percentage, where 100 speed mod would do infinite damage if not for the speed cap


if they changed the speed equation so that 100 would equal 2 seconds or 3 seconds faster, that would be better

if it were say speed = weapon speed - 3.00/(1.00 - speed mod/100)

they just need to fix the speed equation.... the speed mods are fine the way they are, just early in the game rifles and pistols were made incredibly slower than they are now and hitting the speed cap was almost impossible

rifleman had a 2.5x damage multiplier from melee attacks, which balanced out their use of heavy armour-piercing weapons, but that was removed several patches ago and thus pushed rifleman into flavour of the month status
