- Is there a working special targeting just MIND for pistoleers? Like HeadHit1 for TKM's. I can't seem to find it....

- How much do Pup's accelerate the decay on a pistols condition?

- Why won't the devs fix our non working specials? Is it because of the upcoming CU?

Sort of. The only way you can get a mind attack special as a pistoleer is if you pick up the Bounty Hunter pistols line. Then you'll get Eye Shot, a nice blind specials that attacks mind.


As a strictly pistoleer, the only way you can attack mind, in a rather non-focused way, is by spamming a random-pool special like Stopping Shot. Every few shots (I forget the statistics), you'll get one that hits mind.


As for your other two questions, I'll defer to somebody else to answer those, because I have no idea.

To the best of my knowledge power ups do not effect the decay rate in any way other than speeding it up (if you use a speed power up) It'd be no different than if you shot that many times without a power up... you're just doing it faster. I've gone through a few pistols over the last year and a half and never noticed that the decay was faster with a power up than without one.

-They accelerate it enough that you probably dont want to use it on a really nice pistol unless you have an anti-decay kit. I used a PuP on my DE-10 before I had an anti-decay kit, and it noticeably increased decay to the point that I was losing 1 point of condition every couple shots.

some people think the decay rate is about 3x.... i'm not so sure that it's that high, but it is significant


and yes, they haven't fixed antyhing because they're completely overhauling the combat system with the curb

Having a gun sliced also increases decay if I remember correctly.



As far as the broken specials are concerned I think the CU has nothing to do with them not fixing it. I mean back in July 03 we had the same broken specials and there was no talk of an upcoming CU so I think pistoleer specials or lack thereof was never a priority for anyone except us pistoleers.

Right, slicing increases decay as well...gun decay is based on your basedamage output (aka if your gun has higher damage it will decay faster).

perhaps you've forgotten about the original fanshot and disarmingshot2 and pistolmeleedefense2


disarmingshot2 used to be an aoe knockdown, changed in august '03 (it was mixed with a carbineer special by mistake or some other unbelievable story like that)


pistolmeleedefense2 (and 1) would knock someone down, if you spammed this, you could knock someone down again before they even got up, making it a very powerful "i win" button (knockdowns were nerfed about august/september)


fanshot was changed in september to be aoe, before that it was about as crappy as double tap and stoppingshot (for the record, that means really crappy)


also our lovely dodge as it is today, hardly worked at all if ever


the reason pistoleers have been so borked is because we were so powerful at one time

then nerfed

then given the almighty stun damage (and the almighty geonosian pistol)

then armorsmiths started making 40% stun armor and psg's.... awe, thanks armorsmiths /hug

next we'll all have a level playing field


pistoleers haven't ALWAYS been useless.... hell we still are VERY useful today
