Pistoleer is my favorite profession. Sometimes I wonder why pistoleer is my favorite.. but it is the one thing in this game that I would like to play the most. Recently in my foolishness, I decided to try for jedi... 25 professions later I am on bh and that's the last of the fighting professions I have left. My point to explaining all that is that pistoleer, even though I really like it the most (for some strange reason which I think has more to do with the fact that Han Solo was a cool guy than the fact that pistoleer is really any fun), was probably one of the most boring fighting professions that there was. The reason why pistoleer is boring, is b/c of the lack of specials.

Randonb our pistoleer correspondant keeps saying this and not many people seem to be paying attention, but when it comes down to it what specials do you actually use as a pistoleer? I know for me if there were a bunch of creatures/players comming at me I'd spam fan shot and if they got close pmd1, if there was a single creature/player comming at me I'd spam stopping shot and if they got close pmd1. Right now I'm on bounty hunter and guys I have to tell you.. it's so much fun. I have all these options, I can use the carbine and do confusion shot then fireknockdown, then pull out the llc and do a couple lightning single 2 shots and depending on which bar is lower health or mind I can do eye shot or torso shot. I don't know, I just have all these options, all these different strategies. With pistoleer, I spam stopping or I spam fan.

One thing I've also found in playing all these professions is that BEING good at pvp, isa very differentthing than PLAYING a class that is a good pvp class. When I was a straight master pistoleer, I got good enough at dueling to where I would very rarely lose in duels. When playing other professions I found that this carried over, and I found myself rarely losing no matter which profession I played. I think the real issue is, "is pistoleer in it self a viable pvp profession?" My answer to this question would be no it's not. Sure you can buy the best guns, wear the best armor, buy the best foods, and play smart with your profession. However, pistoleer in it self is lacking. You'll find this is true when you think to yourself "what do I actually do when fighting?"

To make a long post short I think our main goal should be to fix the specials. Right now we have a whole lot of specials that are random ham attacks that are worse than stopping shot, if that's the case why use any of them? Give me some options as a pistoleer so I don't have to run away and spam.

All you people who was saying pistoleer is good.. or pistoleer sucks, I think what you're probably meaning is I can make the most out of pistoleer and use it's advantages to my benefit, or man I suck with pistoleer b/c there is a lack of variety in specials.

So for I’m irritated with pistoleer but I plan to stay with it till master. I’ve been a CH a carbeener and a fencer. All three were more fun.

Well, I've been a Master gunfighter for7 months now, never gave it up and never even thought about giving it up. Yes, we have broken specials, but so do other combat classes. It would be nice if the Devs got together and instead of add more broken content to an already broken game they should spend 2 months and fix everything that is not working properly. It's not that hard to do.

I really enjoy pvp'ing w/ my character. Yes there are stronger combat classes out there, but it's more about strategy and how you use your character's abilities that wins. It's alsoimportant to get the best set of pistols you can afford to handle different situations. (fwg5, geno. sonic, rep. blaster, dx2, tangle).

You win some, you lose some. That's reality. But since I developed some good strategies that I use when I pvp, I win more than I lose. Pistoleer has always been challenging; that's what makes it fun. If it wasn't a challenge, it would have gotten bored a long time ago and followed the heard to TK, Rifles, or any other "flavor of the month"

I fully agree!!!! we really need something else then just another random dmg attack...

nduzer: if you got sonic, why would you need a tangle?

I agree completely with the poster of this thread. I have been a pistoleer for a long time and without my smuggler specials I would be hurting.

I think that they really messed up when designing the ranged classes.

Rifleman should attack mind as they are reknown for snipes and head shots.

However why does Carbineer attack Action and Pistoleer Attack Health.

Buffs are the easiest thing to come by these days and you will rarely come across a player in PvP who is not buffed up.

Why do Pistols that do the least damage out of all combat classes attack the pool that 8/10 has the highest stats and substats of HAM.

Doesn't make much sense to me to be honest.

I do have faith though. I'm gave up Master Pistoleer and PIcked up Master Swordsman.

So my template is Master Smuggler, Master Swordsman, 0444 PIstoleer now. (Gave up the dodge and the body shot 3 which isn't worth spending the skill points on).

The new geno Stun Pistol Schem was a step in the right direction. Make them drop more frequently and fix our specials. Allow us to target any HAM. We are pistoleers we should be able to go for head, legs, or torso.

Been there, did that first over three years ago.....so save the oooh ooh pwnt posts and impress me ingame.

Hey SoontierFel, I completely agree w/ you on that It would be nice to have a wider range of specials. In fact, it would bea good startif our 2 Master specials worked, and they way they're supposed to! It would also be nice if we had a special that applied a state to a target, like most combat professions.

Ican always dream ofthe day if MTPS ever becomes a ranged KD....w/ a 360º spin move for animation

ha what would be really cool is if they ever give us dual weild and multitarget pistol shot would have a pretty nice damage modifier which would shoot two things at once using each of your guns.

I think being able to wield dual pistols that act as separate entities would solve all of our problems. Besides looking totally awesome, you could fire two different pistols on one target, or you could target two guys at the same time, and you would have a different queue for each pistol, which wouldn't have to be the same, so you could have a combo of damage types, the possibilities are endless . Of course, it would be insanely hard to use, and tons harder to implement, and it will never happen, but damn it would be cool...and I can dream, right?

Come on, if we could target any HAM pool, we'd go to the mind pool like everyone else in PvP.

One solution to balance thetargeted HAM issuethat should have been considered from the start is no self-heals while in combat, well, to be more general, no non-combat actions on yourself while in combat. No eating foods, no stim-packs, etc. We have Combat Medics in this game for a reason (and no, it's not to disease/poison everyone!!! ahhh!) They should be the ones healing OTHERS during combat. At least now there is the blue milk (I think that's the one) that heals mind damage, but even so, you eventually will get a full stomach with that stuff, but I don't know how quick as I don't know the filling on that drink.

Regardless, if no self-healing was allowed in combat, then the mind pool wouldn't be the preferred pool to target, there would be a bit more strategy (go for the lowest pool orgo for the pool that the opponent draws the most from for their specials.) I'm digressing though...

At the lowest level, our specials need to be fixed/modified so thereare a variety of moves that are worthwhile and we're not just a 2 or 3 trick pony at master. We should have at least 5 viable specials (one for each discipline and one at master) that we would use at Master depending on the situation. At least we do have the ability to use5 different damage types already, though only two with AP, and that's just AP1.

i agree with the poster, however one of my personal gripes is that I think pistoleer shoudl target mind and rifles body : IRL, snipers go for the chest, firstly because there ain't no one who's gonna live with a 6 inch chunk missing from their torso, and secondly becase at rifle ranges the head is too small and mobile a target. Pistols on the other hand...you're close enough that if you aim at someone's head you might just hit it before it moves out the way.

Other than that, fixed specials and speeds would do wonders, and dual wielding just makes sense

I agree I can win a very good percentage of duels and pvp encounters with straight master gunfighter. My point is that I would like pistoleer to be a profession where you don't have to spam a single special. Sure you're correct I can make the best out of pistoleer and still win. I never said anything about making us more powerful. All I said was that I would like to have more variety in the pistoleer class so that I had more options than pmd1 followed by a stopping or a fan spam . Bh is fun, carbineer is fun, swordsman, fencer, tka, commando lol they were fun to me. The only thing fun about pistoleer is making the mouse so that's it's a pointer and nota target and then running back and forth just so that you can see how cool your shots look when you're spamming fan shot. hehe. Don't make us overpowering! Don't make us flavor of the month again! However, give us some tactics, give us a reason to use these other specials and not just have them worse than stopping and fan. Sure you can be a smart player and use your toolbar well and have your muon and your brandy ready, but you need to do that with any profession. You do that and you're going to be decent no matter which profession you pick. When you're standing in front of that master tka and you know that anything that you do besides pmd1 and stopping/fan spam is going to mean that you are dizzy/knockdown and dead in two to three seconds, you might think to yourself that hey "I might want to do something a little different." Sure I can win I just dont' think that's too much fun press one button. I'd like to press a few buttons
