The most effective weapon for you to use would be a carbine in order to take advantage of speed/acc mods.

As for a reason to use a pistol, the FWG5 is the only craftable lvl 54 kinetic ranged weapon, and it is useful indeed.

Why would a rifle be the most effective weapon in that scenario? A guildie of mine runs around with a double-capped carb and I must say, the idea crowd controling things *and* using that one for damage make me quite jealous.

i'm just whining.

I also dabble in rifles and have various tapes in all 3 ranged proffs which effectmy weapons choices. However, standing completely naked, I am fastest with a rifle, I am most accurate with a rifle and I do the most damage with a rifle . I have a really good weaponsmith in my guild who has provided me with capped weaponry in all three proffessions (/love ytechal) and 9 times out of 10 I'm better off taking advantage of the range and damage of the rifle.

I love pistols, I love the available mods and specials but Idon't need a pistol to use them. Between low damage and range limitations I lose a lot of functionality with a pistol. I have an fwg5 that is 463-1046 (pup'ed) and 64 sac with speed of 1.19 (damage pup slows it down). It has 2 accuracy modifiers that equal +29 and it's not my weapon of choice. I find that sad.

I love pistols, they are sexy and sleak and they are what my character would use if the functionality were there but tactically -unless I've managed to run myself out of action- I'm better off with a carbine or rifle equiped.

Why? Because with my pistols I have yet to lose to someone with a rifle or carbine. I'm about 20-0 against them. Look in my sig for my temp.

remember pistols are alot easier to get Uber. A nice rifle will take 5 or 6 enhancements, while almost all pistols only take 1. Its a way for poor ppl to get Cheap uber weapons.

bah! rifles are extremely clumsy and phallic. Pistols are sleak and discrete.
