No. There's a huge difference.
Fan Shot works as a multi target shot.
Muti target Pistol Shot does not work as a multitarget shot.
Well, what COULD have happened was...
Fan Shot stays as a multi-targeted cone-AoE cool shot, and MTPS at Master Level becomes something even cooler, like Stopping Shot 2 (increased damage mutiplier-yeah!).
Instead (because of much whining by inept cone-AoE users)...
Fan Shot being nerfed back to Single-target-less-damage.
MTPS, no word on change at all.
...yep folks, the whining *really* improved your class. Way to go.
The information on this post saying what the difference is between fanshot and multitarget is not toally correct.
FanShot is an area effect cone attack..it will hit everything in the cone..even non-agro mobs you may not mean to hit.
MultiTarget , when working will attack all mobs that are attacking you. The key here is you have to be tacking damage from multiple targets in order to use MultiTarget. (I never use it anymoremyself)
