Thread: Is the DX2 bugged?

I keep reading messages that the DX2 is broken so I never use mine. I was hunting some particularly weak creatures on Talus so I figured I would use it to keep down the wear on my FWG5. The max damage on my DX2 is 153, but I was doing in the 200's for damage quite often. I assume this means the aromor piercing was fixed? I was using no special moves to get the better damage.

Yes, the DX2 is indeed bugged.


As an AP1 gun, it was shown several months ago that the AP damage does not work right against armor and/or creatures with resistances of any type. For instance, a creature with light armor and resistance to heat and vulnerabillity to acid damage...the DX2 hits the creature as if it were not an armor-piercing weapon. A creature with no armor and resistances of any type...the DX2 hits them as if it were not an armor-piecing weapon.


There have been several posts pointing this out to the devs; however, instead of fixing it they've decided to nerf the FWG5.

A standard auto-attack (no special moves) will actaully do 1.5 times the listed damage of the gun. Why? i dunno, I guess the developers are bad at math.


So a 150 max gun could actually do 225 in a default attack.
