Thread: I burned through a suit of armour in 2 hours today (Ryatt Trail4)... changing my template I think :)

I was - at the time - Master Pistoleer (keeper) + CM4404 + Doc4014
I was grouped with a TKM/Doc and a CH/SomethingThatUsedRifle*shrugs*
I outdamaged them both when we fought and got aggro all the time.
They suggested I heal instead, as my heals were better than the Doc's, and I pulled aggro with that too *coughs*
I started taking a lot of damage towards the end and found my trousers had hit 0 condition. They had about 24K on them when we set out. It cost me about 500K for a new suit and I bought marauder this time for the better kinetic protection.
I'm going to grind up to MCM and drop to Doc4000 so I can make the MCM stuff stick more often and insist on getting out of there to kite more I think. Normally I solo L82 mishes with my template and do it without armour since I can run around freely - groups change all that
Anyone else finding they're an aggro magnet?

Oh yes, I quite happily sacrifce myself and take an incap or two drawing aggro from healing my group... on teamspeak I'm often heard saying "Going down... back in a sec" because I've aggro'd everything onto me.
But then everyone else is all healed up and I've performed my crowd control abiliites without firing a shotin a way that probably wasn't intended.
As long I avoid deathblows I dont mind, hopefully hate for healing will be addresses soon though. It's number one on the doctor correspondants hit list.

My suits usually last me about two or more weeks. You need to learn the art of kiting. Even on Trail it can be done. You need some snare or stopping shots to be effectice though. As a Ranged profession, you are not supposed to sit and take it. Run around the stupid MOB and blow them away from a distance. If it's ranged MOB's your going after, then get some Sheilds, these will help your armor some. Also, Pants seem to die quicker then torso stuff, as the torso shots are spread out over 5 peices, while the head and legs take it all.

Healing is the best "taunt" in the game. As a TKM/MDoc you can do quite well in team PvE if you don't mind being outdamaged by everyone else. At least you WILL be the tank. No armor needed too.

I know how to kite... really... did you read the part where I said I solo without armour?
Trail 4 was the problem area. All the mobs are 77-79 and come at you in groups of 3 or more. Look at the make-up of the group of 3 I was a part of and you'll see that my main problem was the huge amount of hate generated by my heals, or the better damage from my pistols so the tank couldn't hold aggro. I don't even want to start in on how much use the CH pet was *chuckles*
As a Master Pistoleer (you read my template right?) I have the root. CM gives me a snare and another root, etc. I can kite any single mob in the game pretty much, but once in a group I am limited by the abilities of those around me.

The Doc in the group was MD/TKM but my heals were actually better than hers, and the area heal that kept us alive turned me into an aggro magnet, as Badger pointed out happens to him
