Thread: Move Maker: an awnser to lack of individuality AND perk-less master status
I was thinking about lack on individuality in professions, and how nobody becomes a master because there is no real benefit. I think I have come up with a good way to solve both problems.
Put in a move maker. Have it so masters of any given profession can take any attribute from any special move in thier mastered tree and combine it with another (or others) to create a new special move.
You thinkmultitargetshot is too bland? Sacrafice some damage for a bleeding effect. You think stopping shot should be more powerful? Sacrafice HAM or speed (or both) for a little more kick. Want to scare the crap out of the group of Rebels you are fighting? Sacrafice damage in multi target shot for speed, and lots of it. I know if I my whole group was getting spammed by shots, I would be a little nervous regardless of how much damage was being done.
Imagine the new depth this would put in. You would no longer have cookie cutter masters that walked around spamming the same shots every time. You would have characters customized even at the master level. You could see one master that focuses on one shot kills, then see another that likes status effects, or see another that was a speed demon. In time, these masters would be talked about, thier individial traits and signature moves would become the stuff of legends.
What I am suggesting is a very organic and balanced way for players togrow once they have hit the so-called celing in this game of spending all thier skill points. I am actually very surprised the devs didn't put this in themsleves, with all thier talk of systems working with systems organically.
I know this needs balancing, so feel free to voice your opinions.
