Well okay, so maybe it's a tad bit more broad than just pistoleer in particular, but ya'll are a nice bunch who with useful things to say, and I figure it's important enough to make sure you don't miss it =P
*Kadel* as a pistoleer, my profession is significantly worse than other professions damage wise. Will this be addressed in combat upgrade?
Keldarin: We have completely re-evaluated the balance of all combat professions. Every one will be seeing shifts to make them more balanced. Pistoleers are not intended to fill a strong damage role per se in battle but they will have other abilities to make them vital and useful.
Keldarin: We have also balanced all of the profession skills so that they stack in a much better way. Adding skills from other professions to your template will be more meaningful after the CU
Keldarin: So if you find as a Pistoleer that you want to become a more powerful damage-dealer then you could add Rifle or Commando skills to help boost your damage output... and not just for the weapons you can use but to boost you damage with all ranged weapons you have access to.

As a pistoleer/BH, who'd love to use the lightning cannon, I find this comment intriguing. Upping our damage by adding other ranged combat skills? Interesting concept. If the mods are spread out in a way to prevent damage stacking (i.e. never lumped into one tree in a profession), it might even work.
Could this be the way to make pistoleer a tad bit more viable? (Although it obviously doesn't increase the pistoleers ability as a "standalone" profession, I must say it opens interesting possibilities for, oh, say, MBH/Pistoleer...)

Hmm, that is rather interesting. It sounds like dabbling will be a lot more effective. You might see a lot less masters and more jack of all trades characters.

Notice the wording. If you want bigger damage output take other proffession like rifleman...pistoleer is not a damage dealer, but it will have other vital roles. Somehow that doesn't make me feel good about CR, but its me.

I am not too conserned about not dealing alot of damage. Pistoleer is fun for me and the only ranged profession I have had. (exclusively melee since my first day) I dont want to be all uber and own everybody. I still win on many occasions and thats good enough for me.

Not if you are a master doc, very limited extra firepower left to 'dabble' in. sigh.

Sounds good, Caix.
I guess they are thinking along the lines of allowing players to customise their templates even more to their liking, seeing as how popular defense stacking is, this sounds like "attack stacking".
Stratics is down for me at the moment or I'd go have a look at the chat.

It is my job to make sure pistoleer is more viable. Even though he says it is not a "damage dealer" per se. We should be able to effectively combat as well as a rifleman without actually needing to be a rifleman.
Glad they finally got some stuff to you guys.
I also want to make sure that a Pure Pistoleer can still do 'ok' even if the rest of their skill points are in doc or merchant etc etc.. But it will never be prudent to think that master pistoleer only could take on someone who specifically designed all 250 skill points into combat.
There just should be more options for pistoleer and allow them a style of play that best fits their character type.

That's what I think the majority of us want. Pures balanced against Pures, but not as good as combat centric characters. Skill point envy I can handle. Profession envy irritates me.

I wonder if "not a damage dealer" will still mean "not an XP earner" after the CURB.
