Since yours is a troll post,I don't expect any serious followup to my response, but here goes anyway:

Let's say I become a Master Smuggler. It's a mighty Hybrid Class, which you assert is "above" other professions. I max out the Pistol line of Marksman to do so.

Then I keep on shooting that pistol and become a Master Pistoleer.

Well now I'm a mighty Hybrid Class plus an Elite Combat profession.

Going by your own statement that Hybrids are "above" other professions, does the fact that I also mastered an Elite profession make me "more powerful" than a cut-and-dry Bounty Hunter that only mastered one high-level Hybrid profession?

Before you say "But Smugglers have slicing and spice in their skill trees, not just combat abilities," consider that Bounty Hunters have camping, burstrun bonuses, and creature harvesting skills in theirs. Also consider that I have badass Brawler skills which you don't,andgive special consideration to the fact thatI have invested skillpoints in 5 separate elite skill branches related to combat (Smuggler's Dirty Fighting, plus all 4 from Pistoleer) while Master Bounty Hunters have invested only have only 3 (Investigation doesn't give you combat bonuses).

Using that same equation to take out the Smuggling skills and "only" have Master Pistoleer, I still have 4 elite branches devoted to combat, and Master Bounty Hunters still just have 3.

So tell me again, who's the tough guy in these cases?

Pistoleers require 415,000 combat xp, meaning they have to have been in combat.

A BH uses no combat xp for his elite profession. Therefore he's a glorified target range profession, not a real combat profession. The Devs will one day see it this way too...

Why do we care about this?

We're not interested in Bounty Hunters. This is the Pistoleer forum.

We don't care who is more powerful. You guys are, so congratulations to you. Big deal.

We just want to fix the broken stuff in our class, thanks. So go home to the Bounty Hunter forum, troll.

#1 we discuss pistoleer issues here, not your own personal axe to grind on BHs.

#2 Hybrids are not> elite. Doctors are not > pistoleers, I mean, that has no relevance. Hybirds do have one thing in common. They each get entire trees devoted to a different "skill", where elites seem to be more generally focused around one weapon, nothing else. They also cost more on average than elite profession, and have greater overall versatility as a result.

Example:
BH:
Investigation/PvE line

Carbine Line

Pistol Line

LLC line.

Each on their own is an independant, very powerful "mini profession", a Hybrid, if you will, of different profession skills.

Commando:
Thrown weapons

Heavy Weapons

Flame Thrower

Acid Rifle

Each of thse has it's own attacks, or certification or skill mods. Each one is independant, and fairly complete, making it a "hybrid" of different combat types.

Doctor:

Cure line

Buff/revive line

Usage line

Crafting line.

In the doctor case, they seem to be more of a hybrid because they require a master as a pre-requisite, and because they are a combination crafter and support profession. It is indeed an expensive profession to master.

PIstoleer:

pistol attacks

pistol accuracy

pistol attacks/state defense

pistol melee attacks/pistol speed.

----------------------

Big difference in how the professions are designed. Commando, BH, doctor, have a variety of abilities and expertise, more than combat the BH gets all forms of combat (mind pool health pool, knockdowns, heavy weapons, etc.,etc. + PvE specific line). Pistoleers have only one expertise. Pistols.

You can also say that hybrid professions generally cost more than 106 skill points. Which makes sense, since they generally offer a lot of versatility compared to the very focused elite professions.

What this belies is that with pistols, a profession focused soley on pistols should be as good (or better) then other professions that use pistols in terms of both the pistols they use, and what they can do with them. Sorry, that's the general consensus. And no, hybrid doesn't meant better, it means more costly, yet gives more variety, versatility, harder to combine with other professions (as a result of being more costly).

Pros and cons.

I am MCH/Master Pistoleer/BH4040.

I see people stating to go Master BH/Pistoleer 0404.

Why is this?

Is using a HCSP and critical shot more effective then having the defence of the Pistoleer using a prime Republic blaster or Trando pistol?

Curious...

BH dish out more damage. They have advanced critical, cripling and torso, any of those more damaging than improved body shot. Not mentioning they get duelist stand, lots of general ranged speed ( good to use with other weapons) and considerable accuracy, plus defenses.

adv critical is great to have for pistoleers. otherwise you get no high damage shot.

mbh/mp/smuggler 4000 is awesome btw

adv crit, adv stopping shot, concussion shot, last ditch...wow, tons of great specials

also have two high damage shots (adv crit and imp body) to cycle for high damage output.

Ok...some good points.

Right now I am a MCH/Master Pistoleer/BH4040.

I am loyal to CH, so the option of dropping this is void.

Now, with this combo, would keeping Master Pistoleer benefit me more or if I went Master BH what 8 bars in Pistoleer what would be considered on par to match. Defence would be key I would assume.

Plus would giving up the Trando Pistol or Repub Pistol for a great Scatter be effective with the template?

What seems to be the best pistol verse a Jedi...I know DPS is key, but what success has anyone had with various side arms/elemental damage?

i say keep what you want and is more fun

pistoleer is a very good profession and with creature handler and the defenses and crowd control from bounty hunter, you can dish out some decent damage and so can your pets... and that crowd control is nice
