I have come back after the new CU; before the CU, I had a lot of fun with the game, as I could do things solo and with friends as well. Now, I am just at combat level 30, so I understand I am still weak, but I am entirely unable to defeat enemies of my level or even around 22-23. For this reason, in five days I have made almost no Pistoleer XP points. I take missions around my level, but they are too difficult for me. For example, I am level 30, I picked up a mission to kill 30 sharnaff bulls, which are around level 22-23, but they always kill me, even on one-on-one fights. I try to use wisely my abilities, rooting them, stunning them, with no luck.

Please, any help or suggestion to restart having fun is highly welcome, I do not want to leave SWG!

My character is Marksman 0 4 4 4 / Pistoleer 4 2 0 1 / Scout 4 0 0 0 - what can I do? Can I respect stuff in some way?

I realized this may be because my weapon is no good enough for me - what is the best pistol for me at this level, and what's the average price for it? I am kinda poor right now, sadly!

It's hard for me to put myself in your shoes because I have never played a CL 30 character post-CU (I'm level 80), so I don't know if it is actually harder to survive against same-level mobs. I really can't say if it is yout tactics, or your template, that is the problem, but one thing you might consider is giving up the Scout line in favor of Medic 0400. That way you can heal a lot of your health if you start getting close to death, keeping you in the fight a lot longer. Scout doesn't do much to help you in combat, unless you're trying to use terrain to keep out of your target's line of sight (which can of itself be a good strategy). You can always respec back to Scout once you're built up your combat skills. I have Scout 4000 myself (prerequisite for BH) and love it, but it doesn't really do much for me in combat situations.

I would say medic may not be so much the problem as is, making sureyou have instant stims. Grouping really is important. Even a second person helps a lot. Also the accuracy line in pistoleer may help you out more than the speed line first so 2400 may be more useful. Wearing some armor may help as could making sure you have a well built pistol that you can use. I would get with a weaponsmith and ask one to make you a pistol for you level.

Another tip I would offer is to select missions that have humanoids as opposed to creatures because they are usually pack types and you wont get swarmed. I have also noticed typically that humanoids are more susceptible to energy on the whole and creatures are more susceptible to kintetic on the whole. So you may keep this in mind and kep a couple different weapons. It going to be rough out there taking on things your own level, but with stims and food you can mange quite a lot.

Figure out which 2 specials are your fastest and lowest cost(my guess is probably placed and ranged shot) Your going to be using these alot. Dont auto attack. Break out of that. You can setup control to auto attack but its counterproductive. Your two fastes specials just alternate back and forth like F5/F6, just hit those to keys alternately. Throw in Aimed shot every few cycles, but not too many. When mob gets down health hit it with some more powerful shots but save those powershots cuz they take alot of action. Save em for when the root breaks.

Ranged and placed you can fire fast without exhausting yourself too early. And dont forget about stopping shot it actually does what it says now plus all the states you can apply to mob- intimidate is good. It just takes practice and learning your specials but its fun in the end.

Alot of groups I've notice arent too many elitist about their CL. They'll group with whoever because in the end they're getting XP faster anyway no matter if your alot lower than them, your still speeding up XP. Now if servers are crowded then maybe people might be more pickier that your lower level, but it seems ppl are just willing to take whoever CLthey can get for now, your speeding up their XP regaurdless of your CL. put bluntly, cannon fodder is usually welcomed when random grouping.. dont worry tho alot of revive cyberarms out there.

Thanks all for the suggestions! I will follow them and let you know if I have more problems. I may have to buy a new pistols, but those are pretty expensive right now for me.

Speaking of the Scout 4 0 0 0 line, I keeped it for terrain negotiation, and gave up other skills during respec to get a couple more Pistoleer skills.
