I have that template with SL x4x4 and its pretty good with a couple of BE clothing under your armor you can get your melee and ranged defense over 300

I'm finding MBH+MP+4400Carbs very nice.


Even though you're a master of pistols, given that first line in Carbs you get more speed an accuracy weilding a carbine, which is nice

SL.

The question should be: 0404 SL or 0440 Carbineer... Why take Smuggler and get one line when you can get two from SL or Carbine?


For me, I took 0404 SL. I get extra defense, speed and volley fire which does 15%, I believe, more damage.. Allows 15% more that is.

With 0440 Carbineer you get a nice damage shot, a snare which we otherwise don't have, and a few other shots as well as more accuracy. But you lose the speed and defense from SL.

I'll confuse the issue by bringing some CM into it.

I first tried the SL x4x4 template for a week. Seemed nice enough, but doesn't add any significant offensive output and only a negligible defensive benefit, particularly with the defensive foods available, and duelist stance.

Then tried CM x4xx, but wasn't happy with the damage output of the fire and poison ticks. Not enough offensive capability to be useful.

Moved to CM xxx4 for the debuffs. Perfect. Allows me to do control the pace of the fight and serves as a defensive bonus as well via thyroid rupture. Slowing their attack speed is more tangible (at least to me) than some extra melee/ranged defense. I can see it more clearly in the combat log, and it must frustrate the hell out of the target. Plus, the ability to paralyze and duck away to heal up a bit is very valuable.

I don't know what you hunt, but if you're hunting jedi or PvPing at all, give this a try in the few days left before the respec is over. It's really a nice template. In the week I've had it, I haven't died once.

try MBH, MP, and 4000 CM, u get some nice heal efficency so u can heal for more

With Celera, 0004 CM is nice. I went hunting nightsister last night and electrolyte drain has downright frightening duration. I kited. A lot. Between that and stopping shot they didn't do anything.


And I get extra healing.

4/0/0/0 smuggler FTW!!!

Nothing is better than to have a Jedi think he is going to /pwn you then LD him for 3800 dmg.
Its a no brainer.

i tried several templates

mmarks + carbs 0300

commando 4000

and i finally settled on sl 0404
just take some crispic for better accuracy and group with something (310 total ranged defense)
and the tchotchee pistol

Hard choice. Sl will give yuo enough defence to break MLS acc and enough acc to break MD ranged defence, there is no other way to do this pre-food. Smuggler of course gives you last ditch, which can more than make up for lack of defence if you get lucky.

I guess it comes down if you want to insure you hit hard and take less damage, or do you feel lucky?

I have exact same and i like it, alternating 3 heals and stims really pisses off jedis lol
