After some initial testing with even-speed blasters (2.0), and (3.0), it seems that the +pistol speed subtracts .1 from weapon speed for every 10 points.
e.g. I have a +100 to speed and my 2.0 blaster fires once a second, while my 3.0 speed pistol fires every 2 seconds.
Rather simple, i think.
As for those of you who know better, or have done further testing, please add.

So exactly how fast will I be at master pistoleer with my 1.3 speed scout blaster.

at master pistoleer, if you take the BH line, you will have +129 speed, so assuming there is no cap you could theoretically hit 10x a second.
using these guns, the cap may be 1.0, which will make a scout blaster less powerful at higher levels. if not, look forward to 1000 damage a second.

There is probably most certainly a cap (1s is my guess). Good info though

i have a 1.4 scout with about 50 speed in pistols right now... the down time between shots seems little less then a second.

Hrm...interesting info there...because if there is a cap around the 1.0 area or it just gets exponential after that, then provided you have a high enough weapon speed, that should no longer be an issue in gun choice since you are going to max it out anyway. Good info

use the timestamp option and you can see if you shoot faster than every second.

its capped at 1 i got a dh17 with defualt 1.6 speed then got it sliced to 1.3 then added a great power up that normally gets me .4 + to my speed when i add it and ended up with speed of 1. and with my pistoleer abilities i wasn't firing a whole lot faster than that
