Thread: Special attack delays

I've seen a lot of talk about the delays on special attacks - especially BS3. Does anyone know how that works in conjunction with pistol speed skill and weapon speed?

This would make a big difference, because if the special attack delay is NOT added on to your pistol delay, but is the only delay used, then it would make more sense to use a slower, more damaging, pistol with those attacks. However, if it's added on, then through high pistol speed skill, slicing, and a powerup, you could get it pretty low (hopefully - depends if there is a lowest delay cutoff, and when the special attack delay is added in - if the delay from pistol speed skill and powerups and all that is capped FIRST, and then the special attack delay added on, then it wouldn't help as much).

From experimentation, I found those out:

A pistol auto attack rate is the speed on the gun. That number is then multiplied by the time multiplier of the special. I know the time multipliers for Body Shot1 and 2 are 1.25 and 1.75 respectively (yes the guide and swgcenter are both wrong on dmg and time multipliers). After that number is computed, it's affected by your character speed mod with that weapon. From tests, it seems that a +5 mod gives you a -5% attack speed.

So... With a gun 60-100 speed 2.4 using bodyshot 2 and a speed mod of +25, you should get a range of damage of 180-300 with a speed of 3.15 seconds (2.4x1.75x0.75).

Note, I only tested speed mod up to about +25-+30, I think the progress slows down as we get closer to 100 or the attack speed would progress towards 0... But up to +25, you can see a direct % decrease.

It would be nice to have a list of all the damge and speed multiplers from every special attack.

I too would like to see an accurate list of all special dmg multipliers and time costs. The ones at SWG Resource Center do seem wrong.

My max observed hit with BS3 so far has been 382 withmy 50-102 scout. This is 3.75 times the recorded max. According to Flyojumper your actual non-special dmgis always 1.5 * your weapons dmg, so it then drops to being just a 2.5x increase. 382 may not, in fact, be my max, though. I haven't seen enough data yet.

Ahhh!

Big info Thanks Flyojumper. So the modifers are multiplied, and your weapon speed skill is applied after. This makes a faster weapon more useful than if it was a flat add.

A remaining queston would be, is the affect of a powerup applied before or after the special attack multiplier?

On your weapon speed skills - someone else posted that they did testing and determined that for every 10 in skill, you subtract 0.1 from the speed (delay), so that at the cap value of 100 skill, you subtract a full second.
