Sorry if this has been done before, but I just got into using the pistol lately. I came from the Rifle tree, but I eventually came to dislike it. But when I picked up a brand new Scout Blaster and started the killing, I noticed that its condition was already 929/1000. I hadn't even had it more than a day. My laser rifle, which I had used for a month, hadn't even gone below 900 yet.

I read that weapons are damaged whenever you get hit with a melee attack. That would explain why my rifle wasn't as beat up as my pistol, since I'm usually not too close with the rifle. But I also noticed my pistol taking damage after a battle in which I wasn't hit. Can one of you (or all of you) tell me how the weapon decay works? I'm a bit lost. Or does being a Pistoleer mean having to get your gun repaired often? Thanks in advance.

Weapons decay the more you use them. Rifles are more powerful and you use less shots to kill a target. Say 2 shots with a laser rifle kills a target, and that same target requires 4 shots from a pistol. You used the pistol twice as much as the rifle.

Everytime u shoot, it wears out a little bit, since pistols shoot a lot faster than rifles, pistols tend to wear out faster. But here's the off-set. Most Rifles cost more then pistols. I paid 8K for a Laser Rifle, and paid 4K for a Scout Blaster. So the cost to replace your weapon isn't nearly as bad as for a rifle.

Hmm. That would explain it, my Scout Blaster is has a 1.7 fire delay, unsliced. Guess I'll just have to lay down some credits regularly to get it repaired.

Also, OverCharge Shot will ruin your gun fast.

One thing I've been curious about is whether using any non overcharge special damages the gun slightly more than non special shots?

I have repaired my FWG three times already. It is about 700/850 currently. I really like the weapon so I will continue to repair it until I find a better one but have not spent much time looking for one.

Is it possible to repair your weapon perfectly, with no blemishes? Just wondering, as the only time a weapon of mine has been repaired is when I did it myself. And I thought if I, a non-crafter, could do it with "only minor blemishes", a Weaponsmith might be able to do it better.
