Planning to do pistoleer eventually... and I've almost got my Pistol4 cert. What pistol should I be looking for?

Since DX2's aren't that good yet, just stick with Scout Blaster

I've seen some pretty rockin fwg's on wanderhome. Something like 70-140 dmg 2.1 speed.

If you haven't already, you can improve your weapon (either increase damage or decrease speed) by having a bounty hunter slice it.

Correction, have a Master Smuggler slice it.

I have a great DH17 to but I just dont like looking like a Caribeener when I use it. I want to hold the pistol down at my side when not shooting it. So for me the reason why I dont like it is purely looks.

Jabu_Strugra - Many of the more advanced pistols suffer from either schematic bugs or resource issues (they require a SPECIFIC iron / aluminium / steel / copper - so until that resource shows up on your server with a higher quality, the guns can't be made, or can't be made well). This is why you see so many good Scout pistols out there - they're easy to make (arguably with bugged delays too - once upon a time it was said that you'd have to slice or powerup a weapon to get below a 2.0 delay) with the available resources.

I have looked long and hard for good pistols. I find that good Scout Blasters seen to consistently offer the best dps.

I'm a Master Smuggler so i can slice as many as I can afford to buy in order to get a good result.My current weapon is a 60-122 damage, 1.2 speed Scout Blaster (30% speed slice :smileyhappy which gives a dps of 75.8!

That's almost 50% better than the best FWG5 I could find that I was using before.

It just doesn't seem right that anyone with only Advanced Pistol skill should be able to use this weapon, but then it also doesn't seem right that you don't get any other weapon cert at all once you go past Novice Pistoleer.

I'd suggest FWG5. I have sliced one with following stats: 44-199 damage, 2.2 delay.

Delay is a much better term than speed. When I first started playing I thought the higher the speed the better. Then I bought a Scout Blaster, Muwhaha. Don't fight anything with fire immunity with that FWG5.

To answer the original question, get the best scout blaster you can find, have it sliced. Scout Blasters are like machine guns if you can get the speed sliced and get some good power-ups that further reduce the delay.

My Scout Blaster is 59-129 / 1.6, Damage per second is 58, 3 more than that 44-199 / 2.2 FWG5... (and I bet my special move costs are lower too) I wish scout blaster wasn't the best gun, but right now I've yet to find one better... my FWG5 is a joke. Yours sounds pretty good tho. That has to be the best one I've seen.
