I just took up Novice Pistoleer a few days ago and I have a Lightweight FWG5 that I'm currently using. Is this a good pistol for a novice, or is there a better one I should upgrade too?

FWG5 is an awesome gun to use. It's fast and hits hard VS unarmored MOBs. Get a good DX2 (Low HAM and fast) and a Republic blaster. If you're a noob, act pitiful and some vet will help you out

Cool, I shall have tobug my local Master Weaponsmith about a DX2 and a Republic Blaster. I could tell him I'm a noob, but I don't think he'll believe me

I have some BH so I use a scatter pistol alot. I have a wide variety from Scouts to Repubs, depends on what I'm fighting or what I feel like using. FWG's are good, but an acid damaging weapon is a must cause alot of creatureson the higher level planets seemresistant to heat weapons like an FWG and generally aren't protected against acid if they are just switch to whatever they aren't protected against and if they are resistant against everything maybe you should reconsider your desire to engage them
Heck, you might wanna try BH if your just want some power in your pistol, since you can buff yourself the high HAM cost of scatters won't effect you much if any.

I'm a barely-above Novice Pistoleer (0-0-2-1), and have somehow wound up carrying 5 high quality pistols around:
- DX2
- a presumably Krayt-enhanced FWG5 received as a gift from a generous customer, with awesome stats, but that's on its last legs (like 300/300)
- a Krayt-enhanced Republic Blaster
- a Krayt-enhanced Tangle Pistol
- and my newest addition, a "Special" Republic Blaster that I just bought last night - the one that has built-in bleed damage (what's the name for this exactly, and where does it come from?) Really nice-looking piece, with stats almost as good as the Krayt one.
I end up using the Republic most of the time, the FWG5 for "special occasions", the DX2 for "close-in" work and/or when the Acid damage is especially useful.
And I'm starting to really love that Tangle Pistol, with Stun damage that's *really* nice for "punching above my weight class." I find it especially useful for fighting Stormtroopers, so I usually have it equipped in cities in case the Crackdown hits me. (Seems I may be worrying too much about that - I got scanned on, like, the *first* possible opportunity, and never since! But I still like fighting Stormtroopers....
)
Tactical question for anybody who uses the "special" Republic Blaster - does its bleed stack with Healthshot 2 and Healthshot 1? I presume it does? With the recent changes to the Healthshot bleeds, are they still worth using, or would you just stick with the "built-in" bleed from the pistol itself?

I use my DX2 the most , it does decent damage and I got a pretty good speed slice on it. I had to buy a new FWG5 and its ok but got a great speed slice on it and it hits very fast, also drains my action very fast.
