hi all,
as title says.. i manged to loot myself a nice 240max dmg geno pistol a couple of days ago...
nice as far as looted ones go.. i decided to add a max powerup to see what the dmg was... i then when to my friendly local weaponsmith sanu
to get it repaired.. before i handed it over i removed the powerup then i noticed the max dmg got reduced to 198? so i did it again and it went down to approx 170?
weird.. anyhow i got it repaired and then sliced it then the stats stopped shifting.. its now 307 max powered.. still happy with it but it could of been better
has this happened to anyone else?

When the condition of a gun goes down the stats do too, it happens on all weapons.

Umm..since when? I have an FWG5 at 350/850 condition with the same stats as when it was made...same goes for the rest of my weapons. The stats don't decrease just its potential to hit its max stat...lets say damage...decreases apparently.

I've had this happen a couple of times on crafted guns as well. It probably depends on 2 things: 1) how good you are at repairing 2) how far the gun has degenerated before you repair it.
I once let a gun deteriorate to 100 durability. When i looked at it, the stats had decreased (similar to how the resists on armor decreases after you go below a certain point in integrity). After i repaired it (rather than having a master WS repair it), the stats recovered slightly, but not fully.

Oh...and it probably depends on the complexity of the gun. An FWG5 is a relatively simple gun compared to a RB or a DX2. And how well a gun is repaired depends partly on the complexity of the gun being repaired.
