Which skill tapes should i invest in? Speed an accuracy are good at master, but will getting more by way of skill tapes be a waste? Accuracy while moving? Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'd say speed. I just bought two tapes and an attachment that total +15. I'll be capped on all specials with all of my pistols except for stopping shot on one pistol. If you have lots of money, I'd say get Accur while Moving since that's our main advantage or maybe some Def vs States, depending on how much PvP you do.

my aim is basically to get skill tapes / armor attachments equaling a total of +16 pistol speed . this combined with master gunfighter speed mods of +74 will take me to +90 pistol speed . the reason why i want +90 pistol speed is because standard non-loot dx-2's and republic blasters are usually around 2.5 speed . a 2.5 speed weapon with the delay of stopping shot requires exactly +90 pistol speed to fire at the cap of once per second . with my current speed mods of only master gunfighter i would require a pistol with speed 1.0 to fire stopiing shot at the cap . so you see the +16 extra speed would make a major difference.

So, how much would you pay per +1 on a pistol speed tape? I'm curious how much money I have to save

Putting the defense and resistences aside, as a pistoleer you have the following mods to fudege with:

Pistol Speed
Pistol Accuracy
Pistol Accuracy (while moving)
Pistol Accuracy (while standing)
Pistol Aiming

I have the cap in skill tapes for pistol speed - if at all possible do the same. It changes your char. You transform from being a decent speed, gimped profession using maniac, to a faster than a MBH demon from Dathomir. You can't make a pistol slow enough that I wont be last ditching at once a second.

Being that there isn't much to do in game other than pvp, I've made aquiring skill tapes my new hobby for the time being. I never got into them until about a month ago when I got this godly speed cap - I thought if one mod makes it so good, lets work on the rest!

I am dangerously close on the cap for pistol aiming and accuracy while moving as well. I have zero mods for plain old accuracy and a nice amount for accuracy while standing - but honestly - who ever does stands still?

I don't know about you guys but I really don't miss in pvp. All my guns have advanced scopes when possible (sometimes looted or wacky ones (see: tangle) wont, which accuracy might help with).

Sure every once in a while I'll miss, but not enough to really warrant the huge cost and effort to aquire tapes. My hope is - is that they will help when fighting people with 125 dodge, CoB and the new dodge food, which puts them right back into the territory that was nerfed with this patch - simply requiring that they eat food to get there.

Also, fyi, pistol aiming isn't really worth it. I have nearly the cap. My theory is this stacks with the "general ranged aiming", yet another mod catagory, and that it is used when you use the aim command; but I don't know that for a fact. It would be nice if there was more detail on all the different mods. The aim command was a huge disappointment - I was hoping it would allow me to nail those 200+ dodge guys before the patch - it didn't. Only intimidated dodge stackers could be shot. Although it does seem to let me deal a higher end damage shot (you know, sometimes last ditch is like a sledge hammer, other times like a charlie horse - it seems to insure that it's hammer time) but still, barely worth it for the delay it causes.
