well, i've been workingo n master pistoleer for about a month now. . .and i dueled my bh friend and got Dominated. . . .i kind of think that all my work was nothing

i worked through 4 pistol tree, and a bh with 1 pistol tree destoryed me ,

as for the dual pistols, i think only master pistoleer should be able to use them, so those pesky bh's can't touch us!!

unless they go Master Pistoleer/ BH 0/0/4/0

Some ofthe best pistol shots can be found in either the BH pistol line, or smuggler pistol line

Sorry

but if you want to voice your opinion then add to the Top 5 issues for us, its probably our only chance for awhile on getting anything done to help push us further back up the offensive line

Master Pistoleer/Expert BH here and love it. I rotate to include ranger for when I need to track a lot of meat in a hurry only. Gratz on master though.

I have been a Master Pistoleer for a few months and a Master Smuggler for about one month. Personally I love Pistoleer, eventually I will give up Smuggler to pursue something else, but I have no plans to abandon Pistoleer.

As for those who think it is necessary to have the Smuggler Dirty Fighting line or Bounty Hunter Pistols line to be effective, I don't agree completely. Yeah the specials they have are nice, but if you are talking pure damage per second I think the Pistoleer specials hold up pretty well.

For example: I have a speed modifier of +74and my sliced Modified Republic Blaster has a speed of 2.2 and a damage range of 96-285. Using the info from http://killyourpc.org/swg/speedguide.htmlthe damage per second I can dish out with Last Ditch is 499.6 every 2.3 seconds but with Point Blank Single 2 I can dish out 536.6 every one second and with Fan Shot I get 555.1 every 1.4 seconds. Really, I hardly use Last Ditch anymore. Now, I have never been a Bounty Hunter and I think they get additional speed modidfiers, but even so, I am pretty darn quick with my highest damaging specials and none of their damage modifiersare asgood as ours (although they can target and bleed your Mind pool and I REALLY wish I could do that plus it drives me nuts that they have a pistol I can't use).

I am not saying that I don't think combining Pistoleer with Smuggler or BH is a bad idea or waste of time (because it is not), just that I think we do ok a a Prefoession.

As for getting our butts kicked by a BH.... It does cost them a whole lot more in skill points to master their profession so I don't have a huge problem with that

If you are going to PvP as a pistoleer, there are some things you can try to help you out.

First is sticking a pistol whip 1 on them. While they are down, you get a damage multiplier. Unfortunately this is only for a short time, and we don't get a dizzy, so they will be on their feet in no time. Don't do this against a melee fighter, or you will have just charged in to your own suicide.

If they wear armor, maybe it has a stun hole. You can get a Geno blaster to carve right through it. Using a heat/energy/etc weapon on someone with 80% resist armor in PvP will just make you die with a sore trigger finger. If they don't have a stun layer, you have a good weakness.

Stock up on various foods. If the BH likes to set you on fire (torso shot, I believe), there is a food with fire resistance. Get a good helmet with acid resists if they eyeshot you with a scatter. Get knockdown food in case they like to pull a carbine and put you on your back. If they bleed you, look for bleed resist clothing.

We're fast, but we have few specials that work well, and no states to speak of (save bleed). Use the speed to your advantage. Maxamize your damage output. If you have those Smuggler skills, that's going to be your bread and butter in PvP. Lowblow, panic, and then lastditch. As a pure pistoleer, you have to weigh specials you use-- I like a PMD1 and then healthshot2, now. Used to be PMD1 and fanshot, but the random HAM thing was problematic.

A hardcore PvP specialist has an assortment of weapons, armor, clothing and food they use to custom tailor to their opponent. If they're one of these guys, you have to really raise the bar to compete.

Yes, i think it was mentioned that you have to keep in mind that bounty hunters take up ALOT more skill points than pistoleer, sure you're a pistoleer, but he's a master scout, a master marksman, and 0040 bounty hunter. Some professions are stronger than others, and one of the main determining factors of a profession's overall strength is how it mixes with other professions, obviously they can't make pistoleer much stronger (although a special fix would be nice) because it can be mixed with both smuggler and bounty hunter, giving you a wide variety of attacks and tactics. Pistoleer is a strong staple profession, no doubt about it, i'm a master doctor master pistoleer, i like the combination as it seems to be a pretty potent mix. Also you can master a melee profession as well as pistoleer, i dont think bounty hunters have this luxury, which makes them very vulnerable in certain ways. For instance a master pistoleer/tera kasi master can take advantage of both ranged and melee damage mitigation, all u have to do is keep the pistol out while you're running in for the kill (although more than likely being kited to death) and then switch to your melee weapon as you close the distance, gives you alot more to play around with and makes for more versatile combat.
