Thread: So when are we going to get some work done on our Profession?????

I'm tired of thinking of changing my combat prof. just because pistoleer sux as it stands now, but yet has so much potential. I think pretty much any other pure combat profession in the game is more powerful with more "working" options then pistoleer. I'm sorry but most all the other combat professions have gotten changes, and some of them weren't fixes but actual additions. Like Center of Being. **edit**. Pistoleer has been broken since day one. Yes, duel weilding would be great. And I hopewe get it.


BUT the main thing we need is our damn special fixed, and probably revamped. Lets list the ones that work as read or at all.


Bodyshots work, but BS3 is to low considering what other specials do to random HAM.


healthshot 1 and 2


Melee defence 1 works


pointblank multi/single 1 and 2. Although all but multi2 are pretty worthless


double tap and stopping shot work. Fan shot works, BUT NOT AS IT SHOULD IN THE DESCRIPTION.


So that leaves these specials as the ones that don't work at all as described or in a way so that pistoleers use them.


pistal melee defence 2


both disarming shots.


pistal multitarget shot (you know the one at mast pistoleer that no one seems to use. I have tested it against stoppingshot. does a little more damage, but doesn't seem to hit more then one target)


And then there is the issue of only 1 pistal given in pistoleer. I think they moved the republic blaster to pistoleer, but woopee.


We need specials that make a difference. We need something that mekes us worth the time and effort to work up in pistoleer. Look what say rifleman or carbineer get at the same levels. Pretty powerfull stuff.


Yea ok fine I hear that we get more defences then say BH. So freaking what. They are not enough to keep a master pistoleer alive against a master BH for more then 10 seconds. Talk about lame.


As for the duel weild we should be able to put what ever we want into either hand. We have to select which of our pistals goes into what hand. And yes they can be the same type of pistal.Yyes they should fire at the appropriate speeds for them and my skills. BUT the accuracy should go down on both. Maybe the same on both, or maybe a little less accuracy on the main hand, and even more penalty on the off hand. But that is the ONLY thing that should be different or modified. If you think that's to powerful. To freaking bad, then become a pistoleer. I love the concealshot of rifleman, and the meditation of TK and the ranged KD of carbineers, BH and Smugglers, but I don't get any of them.


GIVE US A PROFESSION THAT WORKS.THE COMBAT BALANCE ISN'T GOING TO FIX OUR SPECIALS, SO DON'T USE THAT AS AN EXCUSE NOT TO WORK.

i wouldn't be so fast to say doubletap or point blanks work. they say the AOE on pb2 is broken, and doubletap is worse than Kip Up shot until master, at which point you have other specials which are better.

Yes, some of the random HAM shots like double tap, or stopping do what they are supposed to. More damage, to random HAM. But they are redundant, and low damage for compared combat professions at the same levels.


So what no one has any say about this? All I see in pistoleer forum is, "what to pick up with pistoleer" **edit**. why should we have to? You're missing the point.


**edit** Whine, Moan, get our way out of the devs. Works for all other professions.

According to the pistol damage calculator, when I use my trusty DH-17 pistol (93-145/1.3) as Master Pistoleer (speed 74), these are the specials I should use:


- Point Blank Area 2 = 504 damage (But it only hits a single target!)

- Pistol Melee D 2 = 487 (It doesn't knockdown)

- Fanshot = 476

- Stopping Shot = 440


So, I went out hunting and tried it out. This is what I ended up doing...

If i remember correctly a while ago in a thread talking about the combat revamp being pushed back but how they were gonna go over alot of the professions someone asked about pistoleer and TH said they planned on fixing alot of our specials, so, we'll see. We'll still be useless in PvP since the only gun we have that is worth using on anyone in armor is a loot drop which sucks or a loot drop schematic which is a pain in the ass to get.
