Now I have been a Master pistoleer since the second week of the game. I remember mastering it by hunting squills outside of Eisley. I remember the joy I felt for the first time when I hit master andgot Disarmingshot2 which was a ranged kd like lowblow (until it was fixed). I remember back before the pvp dmg reduction was put in, I could 1 shot people with stoppingshot and I was proud to be a pistoleer. I have had many templates that mixed in pistoleer like pistoleer/fencer/medic or Bh/pistoleer or Doc/pistoleer. Oh how the times have changed.......

Here is my problem. Why am I a pistoleer? Rifleman is superior to a pistoleer in every aspect.

When comparing the 2 professions I find that: (some of my numbers may be off)

1) Rifleman get +160 accuracy at master. Pistoleer gets 100

2) Riflemen get a +90 pistol speed mod at master. Pistoleer gets +74

3) Rifleman get Ap1, Ap2, and Ap3 weapons. Pistoleer gets Ap1 weapons max.

4) Rifleman target the only unhealable pool in the game....mind. The only single pool dmg specialPistoleers get is Bodyshot which I'm sorry to say isn't even worth using.

A Rifleman can fire faster with a crappy rifle than a pistoleer can with an above average pistole. I believe the highest rifleman special delay mod is 2.5. (advanced strafe). Pistoleers get the least speed and our best attack, stopping shot, is a 4 second delay.

Another problem when comparing the 2 is money. You don't need to be rich to do well as a Rifleman in pvp and pve. As a pistoleer, average dmg sliced pistols just don't cut the cake. Since everyone has 90% comp, the best tool in pvp is a stun weapon. Well Rifleman get the jawa rifle. Any weaponsmith can make it and a good dmg sliced one costs about 35k. The only stun weapon us pistoleers get that is worth using is the genos pistol. Well crafted genos pistols cost from 3-20 mil. Compare that 3-20 mil to the 35k a rifleman has to spend on a jawa rifle with better stats than the pistol.

Anyone else notice that the best pistol moves are in Smuggler or Bh? I shouldn't have to dabble in Smuggler just so I can get a dmg 6 modifier move or in Bh to cap out my speed. What a rifleman can do with 90 skill points I have to spend 200 skill points. I'm not even going to get started on how 90% of pistoleer specials don't work or are borked.

I'm hoping and praying that the new combat balance will give pistoleers some much needed attention, either by fixing some of our specials or giving us more speed and accuracy. I know there are many many devoted pistoleers out there who feel the same way and have stuck with the profession despite all its problems.
