Thread: Ideas on Dual Wield
-
Any character should be able to dual wieldtwo one-handed weapons of the same type (i.e. 2 pistols or 2 stone knives). -
There should be no artificial dps reduction associated with dual wield, but dual wielding characters would suffer from a -60 accuracy penalty - like it's currently implemented for firing on the move.
The Pistoleer and Dual Wield
-
A new accuracy skill mod would have to be implemeted: Pistol accuracy while dual wielding. 30 pts should be spread across the Pistol Marksmanship line with an additional +20 mod in the Master's box. -
To keep the balance, heavy pistols (Launcher Pistol, Sonic Blaster, Scatter Pistol, DX2) should either not be able to used with Dual Wield at all, or only be able to be used in the main hand, while the lighter pistols would be able to go in both main- and offhand.
Pistol Specials for Dual Wield
-
This is assuming Pistoleer specials would have been fixed eventually. -
High damage pistol specials (Last Ditch, Stopping Shot, Eye Shot, (fixed) Body Shot 3, PMD) -perhaps additionally all non-Pistoleer specials- should only count the weapon currently being held in the main hand for damage multiplication (the off-hand gun either fires not at all or fires for the regular damage) -
Move Double Tap to Marksmanship III and make it an exclusive Dual Wield special. Let it hit 3-4 random pools (2 with each pistol) with a damage multiplier of 3.0 (chance of hitting the same pool multiple times)
This is my take at dual wield.Add your own opinions and suggestions below. Keep flaming to a minimum please ![]()
General Imp. Dual wield should only be used by a master, why? Because its almost impossible to shot with two pistols at the same time and hit what u r supposed to hit. Two fencerweapons (swords? swordmaster??) should also just be Master, just because its really, really difficult. Stones knife however is a different story.. I Agree that there should be no damage reduction (on neither guns) but still, a high accuracy reduction.
Pistoleer. Just use the same acc. mod, but with an overal of -30/-40 something. And luncherpisol, and scatter is what I would consider very heavy weapons. Therefore not pistoleer weapons (we like lightweight weapons u know). And ofcourse, isnt included in the dual wield option.
its kind of hard to double tap when both hands have pistols in them.
double tap is whenyou smack thetop backside of yourpistol while shooting to provide a faster reload rate, kind of like they used to do with the 6-shooter guns.
you know, you hold the pistol with one hand and hold your palm over the latch on the backside of the pistol.
shoot, slap the latch to reset the pin, and repeat.
i could just see someone trying to do that with two pistols ![]()

Doulletab simply mean to quick pulls at the trigger. Yes, the had to use both hands to **edit** the gun with their six-shooters, but Im pretty sure that Starwars guns are semi-automatic, and wouldnt need suck handling.
So, technically, u could doubletap with two pistols at once. Accuracy would drop like hell tough..

Good point. U got me defeated there.. ![]()
But the accuracy should drop drastically. A novice dual wielding marksman should neven be able to hit (a godblessed stroke of luck hit perhaps, every once and then..)
