Hey everyone.. been a TKM for a long time now, and was planing on going M.pistoleer with tka 4004 but thenI realized how gimped pistoleer is just by reading all these "pistoleer so WEAK" threads.
Anyways I came up with a template that im not sure of and hopeing to get some feedback from it.
Tka 4004 / Master Pistoleer / Cammando 0040 / medic 0130
I dont know for sure but Im hopeingto have some good offencewith PvPin using the launcher pistol and flamer.( yea i know flame miss about 7/10 times lol ) I cant live with out tka meditate. =)
Any information on the positive and negative side of this template would be great, Thanks.
You'll be nearly worthless as a TKA in pvp. TKA's are already struggling in this world of buffs and armor.
Master Pistoleer rather sucks without either the BH specials or the smuggler specials. Which will gimp your usage of the launcher pistol, which btw is not a good pvp weapon other than perhaps you can lag your opponents out with it.....Would be great against turrets but without a good solid high damage pistol special such as last ditch to back it up, it's rather weak overall.
Flamethrower......the best damage weapon you'll have with this template will often require you to get in range of melee opponents, or even worse force you to chase down rifleman, or eyeshot spamming BH's. That can be a challenge, then to actually hit something with it, and for it to actually get throw light armor with 80% heat resists....... good luck. The flamethrower is not known anymore for begin a great pvp weapon. Unless you can hold someone down for a couple seconds to land a good solid flamesingle2 while they are kd'ed and then maybe it will be usefull.
No real point going up only 3 boxes in pharmacology on medic. To get the most use out of this, you need to hit the 4th tier box. Then you'll be able to use the far more powerfull stim D's. Which if your buffed will come in real handy providing your mind doesn't get blown out first. If you are determined for some reason to only have 3 boxes in a given medic line, go up first aid 3 instead and just use stim-b's.
To restate it all simply.... I think while you get great defenses and a few neat skills here and there your overall lacking on firepower, and not compensating with further defense. Instead the points you would of used for either/or are being spent ineffeciently. Such as only having pharmacology 3 when the real kick is in getting 4, and having the precision striking line, without the power line in TKA.
I have mastered 10+ professions. I have been a master commando and many of the other combat classes. All of the combat classes are in one way or another "gimped" including and especially the commando line. Right now the fotm profession template is the Rifleman/CM/Fencer/Swordman or some other variation of Rifleman. Now not too long ago the Rifleman profession was just as gimped as the pistoleer is now and the Pistoleer was the "uber" profession. There was a time when the Master Commando was as feared and hated as the master Combat Medic is now and the Master TK was unstoppable in pvp but that was before the new stun layer and 80% + kinetic damage layered armor.
The point I am working toward is this: What do you want to do? What is fun for you? That is all that really matters because if history in SWG teaches us anything it is that things change.Combat is never all that players want it to be.Decide and get to developing your tactics. Pistoleer is a very gimped profession ATM but it is not ineffective when used in combo with other skill sets. You have to settle on what skill sets you want use and then help that community get fixes and to make those weapons and tactics the best they can be.
I left Commando only because of the Holo chase and I got to the silent holo and decided to stop grinding so I could learn and trully master the triple masters I hold now. I believe in time all of my special will work and it will be my use of my skill sets and the tactics I develop that will win the day.
