The crash of thunder and the brilliant light of lighting are the only thing that illuminate a group of armed men about to embark on a dangerous and deadly journey to the unknown. Tensions are high as the group prepares to knock down the impending front door and deal with the enemy at hand. Everyone reflects back on the months of training that controlled their lives for this event. They know what they have to do and they are ready. With a simple call the men burst into the room to surprise their adversaries. The wave of men bearing their rifles and carbines assault the group from all points. Many fall on both sides of the battle as fierce gunfire hails from all corners of the building. The loud shots ring out only to chime in time with the deafening thunder outside. It looks as if the enemy may be dealing our soldiers a blow of failure as they achieve the upper hand. But before all is lost a lone man appears in the front door. A man cloaked in mystery and intrigued by others. He is none other than our hero, our pistoleer. His control of his weapon gives the appearance that his pistol is just an extension of his own body. He deals the final blows alongside his fellow soldiers and the battle has now come to a close. Victory was not an option here. It was law.
Ok so whats my point? Basically this. If you look at almost all movies the pistoleer is the hero character. You don't see them running first into the battle only to be mowed down by the heavier firepower of the enemy. They know what position they hold as well as when they will be most effective with their weapon. The same applies to SWG. Yes I know you'll say "but our specials are broken" and as a Master Pistoleer myself I won't deny that. So because of that we are forced to work with what we have.
Recently I tried the approach as the movies do during a raid. I let all the carbineers and riflemen run in ahead of me into the battle and then I follwed them. What did I find? Basically I lasted longer than I ever have before. Reason being is that they were all taking the hits and I was helping to finish them off. Basically use them as a shield. Sure I may not get tons of DB's or a large amount of xp, but in a raid you can't focus on that. You are there for a job to do and that is your main priority. One on one pvp is totally different so I won't even deal with that. My main objective here is to kinda put more of a pride back into pistoleers minds. Let everyone else say we are weak or whatever, but until we are fixed maybe we should review our proceedures for battle. We need to see if we are really being a pistoleer in battle or are we are trying to be a carbineer or rifleman carrying only a pistol.
Someday we will be fixed and when that day comes maybe everyone will want to be a pistoleer if they make us like rifleman currently are. But if that ever happens it will be nice to know that we were pistoleers through the good and the bad and that we aren't a FoTM like others will be. In that sense we can be proud to be a Master Pistoleer, the hero of our own Star Wars Galaxy.
See ya in the game guys.

Excellent post. I've gone with pistols since I started on Day 2, and I don't think I'll ever give up Master Gunfighter. Maybe one day we'll have dual-wield and working specials and be the greatest, and us old guys can laugh at all the FotM whores. Until then, I guess we'll just have to use our human-shields =).

I dont quite understand that, as a Master Pistoleer you have a fair amount of Defensive/Tanking skills and you can get right in the heat of the action without too much worry.
I'm proud of being a Master Pistoleer and a few broken moves dont detract from a really deadly profession.
I could show you countless screenshots of me being ganked by Imps and killing them all thanks toPistoleer, had I been aMaster Rifleman I would have died everytime.
