Ok guys, I noticed about every 2 threads is the same thing, everyone obsessed with templates. I can't even read this forum anymore. So, I will try and make one thread that caters to the master pistoleer and their choice of other professions.

I have tried a bunch of Master Pistoleer + Something else templates for the sole purpose of PVP. I have been a master pistoleer since the start and will not drop it, so you can trust me on these. I will not tell you which template is the best, but I will tell you the pros and cons of each. Note I am a solo Pvper most of the time, so these will not include commentary on group tactics, etc.


Master Pistol + BH Pistol 4: Accuracy and Speed. You can spam eye shot and stopping shot like crazy till the cows come home. You will be able to beat MBH's with ease (because of your dodge), and kite all non stacking melee guys with ease as well. You will even be able to hit eilite stackers maybe 30% of the time.

Problem? even hitting stackers 30% of the time, a rifleman stacker will own you in about 20 seconds. If they kite you it's master head shot spam till death. If you get close to them, I guarentee they have an elite melee profession with warcry to destroy you.

This was my favorite template, but defense stacking forced me to chance. With the combat rebalance, I predict this will be the best again.


Master Pistol + Dirty 4 + TKA: Yes, great combo that gives you many options. You may not fire everything at the speed cap, but you can now use a ranged KD (low blow), a pistol delay (panic shot). As well, you can meditate off your wounds and powerboost, use warcry 1, intimidate (lowers defense stackers defenses), stun, have high unarmed accuracy (yes if hits defense stackers), and my favorite Dizzy/KD. You still have some points left over with this combo...you could keep explorer and range 3-4 at your choosing....but why? The unfortunate thing about this template is you still get hit too much, so you find yourself using the TKA more than the pistoleer.


Master Pistol + Dirty 4 + TKA + some Fencer: same as above, but you can add 4-3-0-0 or 4-0-3-0 to stack defenses and dodge. This is my current combo, and I can tell you I barely get hit. I may not have the highest range and melee defense in the world (close to it though), but my dodge is crazy high to make up for it. The only thing that can take me down most of the time is poisen/disease stacked together and some riflemen combos. Maybe the odd Pure melee stacker that knows what they are doing. I killed aJEDI with it yesterday and didnt get hit once.


Master Pistol + Master Fencer + Brawler: dodge mania. You will get hit even less often than the above template, can use a stun baton on people's heads, but lacks the extra pistol effects. Scatter hit is undodgeable as far as I know as well. I believe you can pick up master brawler to get the Lunge 3 and Warcry 2, but I didnt enjoy fencer enought to finish this one to be honest. As well, I loved TKA meditate line too much to go all the way through this. I have seen some guys with this template solo 5-10 people at a time.


Master Pistol + MCH: yes i did this . LOL? It sucked. This is for PvE, not PVP.


Master Pistol + Combat Medic: not too shabby, but you will be running more than you are fighting. Very expensive way to PVP, and I guarentee any smart group will make sure you are dead first (and thats not fun). This template is for the smart PvPer only.


Master Pistol + Doctor: you will die a lot...good thing you can buff yourself after each death. Good way to finance your PvP though....


Master Pistol + Master Carbineer: broken 1 + broken 2 = BROKEN


Master Pistol + Commando: only if you are a reb and wanna fan shot ATST's with a launcher pistol. However, I have seen this highly effective in group situations.


Master Pistol + Rifleman: not too shabby right now, but after rifleman get fixed...you know what will happen. Interesting combo for the time being....


Feel free to add any other pistoleer templates I missed, or if you feel I did not accurately describe the above templates. Don't bother to flame me, I did this to reduce the repetitive posting on the forum, and will not care.

My current set up is Master Fencer, Brawler 4-4-0-0, Medic 0-3-3-0, tka 4-0-0-0, pistalier 4-0-4-3. I am want to finish out pistaleir (meening the sundering of skills) and would like to be more pvp capabale. What is your sugestions on witch profession to keep and improve and witch professions to drope?

Hmm, Right now Im going with master CM, trying to master Pistoleer an I noticed one thing: most people I have poisoned assume it's the guy with the master medic title up, not the guy with novice gunfighter up. Last big raid I was in I guess I helped a lot, dunno cause i was lagged the whole time but I musta got one area poison off then i just hit bodyshots till I saw the clone screen come up.

If you want to keep fencer, I would change it to:


Master Pistol


Master Fencer


Master Brawler


TKA 3-0-0-0

Dirty Fighting 4, Pistoleer 0041, Expert Bounty Hunter,


Fight Buffed and carry lots of spice and Chef stuff...I'm pretty hard to beat most of the time...


If the Pistoleer specials get fixed, I'll go Master Pistoleer, Expert Bounty Hunter...

Master pistoleer

Fencer 4000

Tka 0404

Rifleman 0403

novice medic


170 something ranged defense

206 melee defense

120 dodge

71 defensive acuity

defense vs kd 70 ,dizzy 55, blind 50, stun 65, posture change 50

unarmed toughness and unarmedkd2 for defense vs melee guys


could change some rifleman to more kd defense in fencer or powerboost in tka


this makes ranged people miss about 4/5 shots and with tkm blinded they miss too...

this will only last a few more weeks though ;P

if u got master rifleman+master pistoler i bet u would drop pistoler in a week for somthing useful like master doc.

Heal your wounds, buffs, grief option (FT), and HUGE damage to turrets ! ! !



BTW, the current defense mods of Dodge galore (Master Brawler, Fencer, TKA) is defeated with Unarmedcombo2. Because the attack is SO bugged to hell, it cannot be dodges, evaded, countered, etc. as the other attacks. Almost a 90% hit rate from a bugged special that does good random HAM damage, I think its a bit better than unarmedhit2.

Nice offensive combo, even thought about it. The only thing that irked me was the loss of speed by not mastering TKA, and the lack of defenses But this is definetely a turret/atst/group destroyer combo....who needs defense when you have a good offense right?

Why do the Pistoleer/Master Doc's die alot? Is it just a lack to total stacked skill mods and the fact that everyone else is buffed too?


Will this change after the combat "revamp" you think since defense stacking will be flattened out somehow?

It's not that this particular combo dies more than another than it doesnt add offensive or defensive mods, it's that pistoleer by itself against anyone else who has stacked =Dead. Pistoleer is a great base class to add other classes..hence why I keep it in all my templates. But by itself? Lacks targeted pool shots, and that is the killer. But, like I said, to be able to buff yourself has huge advantages......
