Thread: opinions need on simple idea...
Yeah, it's actually been brought up by a developer in the past. Very publicly, I might add. That was many months ago and we don't know what's going on with it.
Personally, I would favor a reworking of speed and speed mods as a whole (obviously) to achieve these ends, with hard caps as a secondary measure. A sort of "okay, players should never hit these speeds with this weapon anymore, but just in case they do, they won't fire any faster thanX - guaranteed."
i totally agree, Randon....... i was entertaining the notion of the speed equation equal at most 2 or 3 seconds off your current weapon speed..... meaning at our 74, there should be very few weapons that would need that extra 26
i posted it in some other thread (the equation) but it was just pulled out of my head /shrug
*edit and here is my proposal:
speed = weapon speed - 3(speed skill/100)
with a hard cap at 1 for pistols, 2 for carbines, and 4 for rifles..... not sure about melee or heavy weapons though
idon't likethe fact that if there was no hard cap, we could do infinite damage
