Thread: Pistoleer/Commando/Smuggler- Need Template help?
I wasn't surewhat forumto use to ask this question soI decidedon thepistoleer forums. I think it is the best choice since it has to do with being a Master Pistoleer.
I just started to build my PVP template with a base being a Master Pistoleer. I also wanted to be a Master Commando and do Smuggler 0040. Since you come up a few skill points short I was wondering how effective is Last Ditch in the smuggler tree. I can either drop the Master title for Commando and stay 4444 or drop down to Smuggler 0030. I am not sure which is better. From a pvp standpoint I assume the Master Commando title should be dropped but some people told me that they thought the Smuggler tree isn’t worth it. Does anyone have and constructive criticism?????
Also, I've invested some money in some decent pistols and have around +11 in pistol speed tapes. Not sure if this info would help. I guess some people would say to drop Commando to novice just for the launcher pistol but I like to do a little PVE and help out in raids.

Panic Shot is absolutely worthless now....I will explain breifly:
The way it used to work: Panic Shot used to delay a target for 10 seconds. Plain and simple. Could be used after KD to keep the KD longer or simply to delay so you don't take so much damage.
The way it works now: Panic Shot was nerfed to where it delays the target but the target's delay breaks if damage is done to it by you, a group member, or generally anything including state effects. If you have Master Pistoleer, it is near impossible to fire this shot without doing dmg to the target immediately afterwards, resulting in the actualy special of Panic Shot to be made worthless.
The only Smuggler specials that are decent are Low Blow and Last Ditch. AND A WORD OF WARNING!!!!!!!!
DO NOT FEIGN DEATH IN PvP!!!! YOU ARE STILL ABLE TO BE FIRED UPON BUT NOT DEATHBLOWN! THIS RESULTS IN "BLACK ROT" (1/1/1 HAM), 999 Battle Fatigue, AND IF YOU ARE WEARING ARMOR ITS CONDITION WILL BE WORN DOWN TO 0.

If you wanna get owned all the time than this is the template for you, no good defenses, bad mitigation, its just so bad.
He said pure offense though. Have to admit..eye shot with a laucnher pistol would be sweet.

I would go master pist/commando with smuggler 0-0-3-0.
Your obviously going to be the undisputed master of the launcher pistol. When you're not using that do
do HUGE damage to turrets with Fan Shot, you're going to be using a geonosian sonic blaster in PvP.
Now i will tell you... you're not going to find a good damaging Geonosian sonic blaster that will have a speed
of around 2.5 seconds (unless you're rich as hell or exploiting). Last Ditch, while it has the chance of stunning
your opponent will be TOO slow at master pistoleer speed. In PvP, i always use Fan Shot because it is better
damage per second at those kind of pistol speeds, hits multiple targets, and i you'll be able to shoot at very
close to the 1 second speed cap.
Last ditch is nice, but unless you have a fast geonosian, you're not going to do better than fanshot on the battle
field. I will also recommend healthshot2.... it's fast, and does very nice damage to only their health pool
Healthshot2 does better health damage than bodyshot 1/2/3
So if you're going to be an offensive powerhouse, i'd suggest going master commando/pistoleer. With master commando
you'll quite handy with a rocket launcher, and more proficient with a flamethrower. You will be a turret destroyer
and general wreaker of hell.
Last Ditch is nice, but it is also played up and glorified. If you don't shoot near the 1 second speed cap with that
shot, it's not even worth it.
If you EVER get a fast and destructive geonosian... my trigger finger would itch for last ditch, but hey, your choice.
Thought of somthing else to add. All the bonuses (sub master) for the rocket launcher come in box three. So, if you were inclined you could change the above template from...
Commando 0440
Sumggler 0030
to...
Commando 0340
Smuggler 0040
and pick up last ditch without losing any accuracy or speed on the RL. Also, if you are going to use the RL, get a few crates of grenades and have them sliced, seperate them into damage/speed and then take them to a weaponsmith to have the RL made. It takes five grenades per launcher. Then when the RL's are done, they will have higher damage and you can have them sliced again. Sure, this makes an expensive weapon more expensive, but what the hell, you really only need the one shot.
