I was just perusing the different combat boards, checking up on the major complaints that each of the combative professions seems to have, and I noticed that there are 3 that have real issues. These being us, the Carbineers and the Pikemen. Each having similar if not identical problems (counter part professions are firing way faster/more accuratel/with higher damage + most of their specials are redundant or just plain broken). But when I go to say, Combat Medic, I see them writing articles like 'Ways to beat combat medics so people won't nerf us' or in Rifleman....'Who has the best legendary/exceptional T-21?' (For those like me who have never even heard of, let alone seen one of these in game, they are ridiculous weapons that drop off the high power NPC's like Dark Jedi or Night Sister witches)
Now, while I foremost want our pistoleer specials to be totally fixed, and to have the speed equation changed so that Pistoleers the specialty profession of handguns are firing as fast and with as much accuracyas we were meant to 'in comparison to' the Rifles and Carbines, I say that if they don't plan on doing the combat fix before the introduction of 'any' new pistols, then why not give us a weapon that can compete? To whit: the DE-10, perhaps switching it's damage type to cold or giving it Medium Armor Piercing, or making it a cold+AP2 weapon!
And to forstall those who have some cracked notion that science fiction weaponry has to totally mimic the firearms of real life, in 'this' game a pistoleer must spend the exact same number of points as a rifleman, so I think we can all agree that they deserve to get the same amount of effectivity for it.

Agreed. Also we should remember that once we are finally "fixed", the other, non-broken-ish professions will have had a huge head start in terms of mission payouts, loot, PvP kills etc. How about something to make it up to the veterans? AP2 if you've been a MP for 3 (6, 9, 12?) months? New guns that you can only use after 3 (6,9,12?) months?
This is not necessary, but a goodwill gesture that will go far in unruffling some feathers.

Why's there such a hype about Cold Damage?
Basically because Cold is not resisted by many lower level mobs, but most importantly, a number of higher level mobs have low resists to Cold as well. That and the fact that there are next to no Cold damage weapons in the game (off hand I can think of only one rifle...).

I wouldbe overwelmed withhappiness if the new Death Watch Dungen pistol was a cold damage gun. In fact it would prally bring a few tears of joy to my eyes

LOL, this problem kind of reminds me a bit in a Dana Carvy stand up special where he is talking about his single friends that don't have kids.talking to one of them on the phone .'Oh my god, I woke up at noon and I'm still tired! I guess I'll run to Starbucks and grab a Frappuchino!'.

Indeed, the thing is, giving us an ap2 weapon wouldn't exactly 'overpower' us when we are so far below what is apparently considered to be 'ok' by the developer team
