Thread: master Pistoleer with a 3.0 spd gun vs a novice Pistoleer with a 1.7 speed scout,
at master theres a +20 to pistol speed, plus the (4) +6's up the combat line. what do these translate to in actual attack speed?
for example: would every +10 shave off .1 from your pistols attack speed?
thanks in advance

our profession is broken. they need to make it so master pistoleer has +100 speed and change the bounty hunter scatter pistol to a scatter cannon to stop these dabbling fools.
i dont think +10 is -.1 because then +100 is -.1 .... i dont know, who can explain?
Not sure what a novice pistoleer has for speed skill, and it would also depend on whether or not he had master marksman.
The +44 speed that the master pistoleer has would give a 44% drop in weapon delay. That alone would drop the 3 speed gun down to 1.68.
I think at master you have +74, so that would mean that novice must have +30.
So 1.7 * 0.7 = 1.19
And 3.0 * 0.26 = 0.78, which caps at 1.0
So the master would shoot faster.
Ooh ooh I know, I'll actually try answering the question!
A novice pistoleer (not master marksman) has +30 pistol speed. This is a 30% cut, so I think that means the speed of a 1.7 sec scout for normal attacks would be .7 x 1.7 = 1.19 sec
A master pistoleer (no BH, no master marksman) has +74 pistol speed. So O think the speed of a 3.0 speed, uh, DX2 or something would be .26 x 3.0 = .78 sec. (capped at 1.0)
The math would be different for specials. I'll let someone do that if they care. I think it would be an even bigger benefit for the master.
(WeaponSpeed * SpecialDelayMod) - (WeaponSpeed * SpecialDelayMod) * 1 which equals 0 which would be a single attack per second, be it stopping shot or default attack.
This also ignores speed power-ups on weapons.
Instead, if you look at the information Holo posted when discussing the T21, you get a formula where speed of the weapon is calculated(using pistol speed, powerups, speed of weapon),capped at 1.0 as the min, and then multipled to the special delay. This means that as you increase your pistol speed you could use a slowwer speed weapon, which would also mean it would probably do more damage, that you could fire at a fast rate, also you make pistol speed powerups useful, and would explain why thier is a way to get pistol speed over 100. So under this formula a novice pistoler would use a 1.42 speed weapon at the same rate a master pistoleer would use a 3.84 speed weapon.
Testing with weapons and specials, with time stamping turned on, show that it's a flat percentage multiplied in.
