Pistoleer Archive
Thread: I'm fed up of all this 'Get dirty Fighting' 'Get BH Tech' (ooops at last thread)
Can pistoleer not be a profession in itself?
PvP is NOT very fun when heavy swordsman, commandos, and rifleman can take me out in ONE hit to the mind, and i have 850 mind. But i am a wookiee so i can't wear armor.
Oh i forgot the devs are all human/zabrak rifleman, they havent heard of a wookiee ch/pistoleer
Why is the smuggler pistol row got most of the best pistol specials?
Master Pistoleers? are they really master pistoleers? pfft yea right
*enters pvp combat*
*stands at point blank range from rifleman*
*hits duel*
*is incapped before he can even take his first shot*
*gets DBed because the guy is an arse*
Now i have lots of fun standing at point blank range from a master rifleman staring down the barrel of a t21.
We should not need BH or Smuggler, although they should still add to what a pistoleer is.
Balance
huh.....
i am master pistoleer.
i am novice commando 0440
ever since i picked up a flamer, i hardly use master pistoleer anymore, the damage done doesnt compare. i can kill things quicker with the flamer. even with the dot nerf coming i will still kill faster.
i am going to drop pistoleer after i try out the new weaps , because the only reason i equip a pistol these days is so i can make use of the dodge mod. as a master of this proffession i expect more, but what is the answer?
More damage?
More defense?
it just isnt working as a strong combat proffession for me. for others it might be.
i am thinking of either taking up Master Rifleman, or going master medic and doc 0400 so i can rez party members.
in my opinion, pistoleer isnt a proffessionin itself. thats my opinion, others may enjoy this proffession.
i am not slamming the skill tree and asking for 'this' and 'that'.
In my opinion "hybrid" professions are ruining their profession structure for exactly this reason. To be a pistoleer, you really need to be a pistoleer/smuggler because there are pistol items in that profession. They need to fix their professions so that weapons skills reside ONLY in the profession of that weapon. This may mean adding more lines to the skill tree for it or whatever, but for pistols, all pistol items should be under pistoleer. All carbine items should be under carbineer, etc, etc.
These other professions can then learn their special skills in their own tree, and then pick up whatever weapons skills they want to complement themselves with from the weapons trees.
It is sort of a roleplaying thing. If you want to be a loser, then you take pistoleer.
Or at least that is why I did it.
