This is from the In Testing notes:

"DoT stacking has been changed so that each player attacking a target can only have one fire dot, one health bleed, one action bleed and one mind bleed."

But you are correct, I do not see that anywhere in the publish patch notes. Maybe it was an oversight? It did not appear to me that my bleeds were stacking though. I'll have to test again.

So if bleeds don't stack anymore that means it's time for me to take health shot 1 off of my tool bar right?

From the wording here it sounds like it might actually be better for groups. With each person putting a bleed on, previously only the first bleed counted, at least I thought it didn't, meaning if I bled it with HS2 and HS1 no one elses HS would stack. This sounds Like the whole group can HS2 it and it will stack, but My person HS1/HS2 combo wont work (only the one that hits first...).

Been a long day, I don't think I articulated well, but does that make sense?

I'm also looking forward to seeing what the new DX2's look like.

Better accuracy for my favorite weapon is a most welcomed addition for sure.

I'm guessing that I have to buy new DX2's now! It is about time that they fixed this gun! It's only taken 6 month's of our complaining.

I just set up a macro and gave it all a test.

/kneel;

/pause 2;

/healthShot2;

/pause 5;

/healthShot1

Then I stood there and took a beating. After 20 seconds or so I watched the first bleed hit but there was no bleed 5 seconds after. So I swapped the macro to healthshot 1 first.

Next mob, first bleed hits and does damage. Secnd bleed hits and does damage. 15 seconds later the first DoT kicked in, 5 seconds later nothing happened.

To me that's confirmed. DoTs no longer stack.

Not sure why you didnt see the second bleed I definitely do.

Current information from my testing is:

Bleeds now have an initial damage - what you see when you shoot.

Bleeds now do 20% of that per tick

Bleeds still stack

Bleeds take away xp from your kill (eg, if I kill a gurreck with just BS2, I get 3600xp, if I use bleeds at all I get 3000-3200ish. I expect bleeding a critter to death then shooting it will net next to zero xp).

DX2 midrange accuracy substantially increased, other stats unchanged.

I just posted a separate thread on this: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=pistoleer&message.id=36461

POKEY THE PENGUIN SIG REMOVED BY GARVA BECAUSE "Just because you are crafty enough to get around the technicality of it being a .jpg or .gif does not mean it is not an image, it is not ascii art, it is an image" SO HERE IS MY NEW SIG.

Oh, my test was similar to yours - except that I didnt do it with a macro. I just stopped firing after hitting peace to see what happened.

Bleed2: 1004ish damage to gureck. saw a couple of ticks of 201.

Bleed1: 700ish damage - saw ticks of 141 alternating with the 201s

This is the patch notes straight off my launchpad...

Combat
  • Combat XP grants were removed from combat healing, poisons and diseases. Those actions will still count towards looting permissions.
  • DoT damage is now tracked for loot permissions.
  • XP rewards in combat now correctly reflect amount of damage that was done by dots.
  • Special abilities that inflict combat DoT's (Fire and Bleeds), have had there initial strike damage increased and the combat DoT damage reduced.
  • Weapon DoT effects now only work if you are certified to use the weapon
  • Bleed/Fire resistant clothing will now have an effect.
  • Fixed /chargeShot1 & /chargeShot2 to work correctly with the knockdown timer

  • Professions: Pistoleer

  • Increased maximum mid range accuracy on the DX2 Pistol (Player Correspondent Issue)

  • 1. Where does it say that bleeds do not stack any more ?

    2. How much better is the DX2 ? Is it in the same performance league as my FWG5 ?

    This just says to me that dots can be used to kite mobs although the damage will be less.
