Thread: What happened to the good 'ol Tangle Pistol?

Ive been back in game for about 2 weeks or so, after about 2 months break. Where are all the tangle pistols? I mean Alot of the tangle pistols i used to use were a hell of alot better than these expensive pieces of crap called Geo pistols i see around.
For example:
In one store in theed im browsing i see a ge pistol for 500k, stats looked like: 60 to 102 damage, over 3 speed, has been sliced.....
Back in the day i could buy an unsliced tangle pistol with better stats than that at about a 50th of the price!
Was it nerfed or something?
(later i got a 100 to 150 damage, 2. something speed unsliced geo pistol for 50k... but still i would ahve preffered a tangle :/ )

In short, the answer to your question is simple: the geonosian sonic blaster was introduced.
A good geo pistol is far superior to any tangle Ive ever seen. The crappy ones you mentioned were the looted kinds, not the crafted versions which have stats that blow a tangle out of the water. With slices and powerups, some geo's can top 500 damage. I havent seen many tangles at all since the bio lab was opened.

true but then also, why the price hike? I mean like the one mentioned in my example, that is by far inferior to most tangles i ever used but cost a hell of alot more (and an abysmall slice on it too!)

because...since many pistoleers aren't powerful enough to even think about the Geo cave, they can charge as much as they want.
and they sound kinda weird, too...weooawooa! weooawooa!
i dunno..
tangle pistolslook like trouser snakes, too..

Ya people are charging to much for the geo were tangles are just as good. I payed 200k for a looted geo pistolthat had stats of: damage100-180 and speed 2.7 unsliced, the guy gave me another geo pistol. I have yet to loot a geo pistol in the geo cave. There is no need to buy the geos that have max damage around 100 cause tangles are just as good.

Well Tangle pistols are still around, and they're basically the same as that Geo you mentioned, but alot of people seem to have inflated ideas about justhow good your average looted geonosian blaster is. Basically the crafted ones are ALOT better than that provided top of the line resources, so don't pay for schlock like that.

Best tangle i've seen has around 250 max after powerup and slice. My personal Geo is 522 max.

In theory, if you got a real nice Gorax Bone Shard drop or a real nice Spider Fang drop, and then topped it off with a good slice, you could put together a decent tangle pistol.

damage and speed isn't the only thing the geo has going for it though
the accuracy is immensely superior (+34 @ ideal compared to -10)

Ja, that's one difference the dropped ones have.
However, paying 500k for one means you're getting ripped off, BIG TIME. On Radiant, I saw some going for 20k... I have two myself, one I looted myself and one that a group member gave to me because I was the only Pistoleer in the group who certed for it.

Yeah, though if you're a BH who doesn't want to dabble into Pistoleer for the Geo cert, then a Tangle is your only option for a stun pistol.
