Gahhh...

I talked to a master pistoleer/master smuggler the other, day... I asked the mate if his combo was cool and usefull..

He told me it was pretty good, except for that he had allot of bad weapons!

Actually he told me, that the only pistols he were using was a Republic blaster and a geo gun.. Even though he said, they both looked ugly, they were the only usefull pistols...

Of course I become instantly dissapointed and went to ask on the forums... I really like Pistoleer

I really like Pistols.... And I think stuff like Scout, SR Combat and FWG5 are really cool looking pistols!!!

Are none of these not worth anything at master pistoleer?? I don't get it... Is Geo only uber in PvP because it has stun!!!??

Please tell a noob like me something: Would it be stupid to go Pistoleer/Smuggler if I wanted to use does guns, like Scout SR combat, FWG5 and DX2?

Thank you.... I read the FAQ made by the corospont, but his words were different from the guy I talked to in game, so I would appreciate more opinions!

Okay I absolutely love pistols as a weapon. I try to use them every chance I get no matter what.

Anyone who says the only pistols you can use are the Republic Blaster and the Geo Pistol are closed minded and actualy a little out of it.

Geo Pistol?! what is that useful for outside PvP? Most high level creatures are very resistant to stun damage. It also has AP 0. In that case you should not use it on a creature above AP0.

SR Combat Pistol is not to great. Slow speed and average to below average damage. But it has AP1 and outside your Republic Blaster this is not a bay energy attacking pistol. Republic Blaster is still better.

Striker Pistol is a good "job" related pistol. It has AP0 but in the case you need kinetic damage you have access to it. Most if not all other ranged classes don't even have access to kinetic damage.

Tangle Pistol junk... Geo Pistol that is far far worse.

Scout Blaster good fast low HAM spam pistol

DH17 about the same as the Scout Blaster. My DH17 is actualy better than my Scout Blaster.

D18... Urm... Not much to say about this one. I have personaly never used it.

Republic Blaster AP1, fast, good power, modified version has a bleed that stacks. Overall this is a pretty nice, but ugly, weapon.

DX2 AP1 acid, good power, decent speed. A very nice addition to any pistoleers collection.

Scatter Pistol (BH) AP1 acid pretty much similar to DX2 except WS can do some different things to them. If you can get a Krayt version of this you'll be looking good.

Launcher Pistol (Commando) most if not all pistoleers don't have access to this... but BLAST damage would be great to get my hands on.

I'm thinking I may have left something out... don't remember.

So overall, I think pistol is great and I find our pistol selection rather nice and out damage types very helpful. Only problem is we max at AP1 but hopefully we'll be better off on that after the combat balance.

Awsome mate!

What about FWG5?

I mean... The defense stackers, seems to focus on 80% kintic and stun layers...

Maybe Heat would be the next best option?

Glad im not the only one who does not like Republic

Thx allot mate... Now i wanna be a Pistoleer

Yeah I said I thought I was missing something... and that was it...

Heat damage is a nice addition and some of these weapons can have nice stats. There is also the featherweight version that adds to skills... ranged, melee defense, dodge and something else I think, I am not sure off the top of my head.

If you are looking for PvP your only choice is Geo Pistol pretty much. Also for PvP you may want to do BH 0/0/3/0 or better. BH 0/0/3/0 will get you eye shot which is mind damage and will help a lot in PvP. I actualy have killed some buffed players with a Scatter Pistol and eye shot... next time they may think about buying some better brandy. Also this will get you to speed cap, once you get to this point all that matters is damage all your weapons will fire at full speed.

Is it true the bleed on a Republic stacks???

Is this the same for other weapons with a bleed?

no, you can only have one DOT of one type per each pool.

so using the republic blaster to spam health bleeds will only give you the republic's bleed. you can, however, have a poison, disease, fire, and bleed all on one pool.

too bad pistoleers only have access to one of them, though.

It looks like a turkey baster (maybe thats what they used as props in the movie, EP4 was a low budget operation afterall ).

And the D18 is like the scout blaster, only with a really good +to hit mod at 15m, lower HAM and slightly less damage, I ground all of marksmen pistols with it and warning shot / body shot.

I am thinking of including novice commando in my new pistol/bh/smug build, just to use the launcher pistol. I have found a few damage sliced with about 100-300 dmg,and +0/ +20 / +0 range modifiers.Although the speed lacks, that can easily be made up with 60+ pistol speed and a speed powerup. The only big letdown is that a gun which shoots homing rockets doesn't AP1.

+5 pistol accuracy, +5 dodge, +5 counterattack (why counterattack, i don't know.... it apparently doesn't even work unless you have a carbine or two-handed sword equipped)

but the fwg5 is a good pistol to have because one of the good things pistoleers have going for them IS damage types

sure you will be using your DX2 and Republic blaster a lot, but strikers/geos/FWG5s all have their uses
and never underestimate the scout blaster..... mine is 1.1 speed 85-225 dmg and the HAM is only 12/23/12
not only can i spam any special at the speed cap, but i won't incap myself doing it

It's always good to carry lots of guns with different damage types. That'll be a real strength in PvE, because you can use whatever gun fits the vulnerability.

"D18... Urm... Not much to say about this one. I have personaly never used it."

I do!

It sucks. It's just the "Not a CDEF Pistol" gun. You hardly ever see these, because they stink. You can make them at novice weaponsmith, but Novice weaponsmiths can't make anything worth using. In fact, a Novice weaponsmith can more than likely make a better CDEF pistol than D18, for much cheaper. So basiaclly the only people that do make them don't make good ones, and even the good ones aren't good. Don't bother.

Now if we could only get a cold and electric damage type we would have that 'going' for us. Don't really have that many more types than the other ranged profs.

Yesterday, a Rifleman/Swordsman (Master of both) and I were dueling. I'm a Smuggler/Pistoleer/Marksman (Master of Each). We did five rounds. The first two were fully armored. He used his Jawa, but my Geo is HORRIBLE, so I was using a pretty well-modified Republic. He cut through me like butter with Headshot 3 and the Jawa. I barely scratched him. THEN we fought two battles unarmored. I kicked his tail both times. Not as decicively as the first two of my losses. The last round (his buffs were fixing to die) was Armored again, but this time, I used my tangle pistol (believe it or not, it's actually better than my super-crappy geo). I missed more than I hit. And when I did hit, it was so bad that he regenerated faster than I could shoot.

What I learned from this is that I need to save up for a really good Geo if I'm going to PvP. At least until the combat rebalance comes out.

you should also get some armor with atleast a stun protect on your helm. Even 1% stun protect will prevent 50% damage due to most stun weapons lack of AP.

I know this is a Newb question but what does AP0 and AP1 mean?
