I haven't noticed that they decay faster.
Some shots do wear on your weapons. All specials increase wear more than normal shots. I believe Overcharge2 is the worst.

Sure there are plenty of other specials. Just look in your trees in the CTRL+S thing.

Not 100% sure in this, but I think using pistol whip/smash does. It would make sence because your using your gun to hit someone.

Do you use powerups often? They burn your weapon out, ESPECIALLY if you top them with specials.
But I think specials like Stoppingshot & Fanshot burn your weapon pretty quick, too.

ive heard this a few times but why do power ups increase damage loss on condition of the weapon?

Its all about the damage. A powerful pistol will decay quicker than a less powerful pistol. Since a powerup increases the damage output of a pistol, it will also make it decay faster. A slice will also make it more powerful, therefore decay faster. Damage per shot increases with specials, so it decays faster. Overcharge shot 2, Fan shot, Stopping shot, Last Ditch, all have high damage per shot, so they decay the pistol faster.
A weak pistol - no powerups, unsliced, no specials - lasts a lot longer than ...
A strong pistol - powerups, sliced, with a high end special.

You're increasing the damage capability of the weapon beyond its intended specs. This comes with a consequence. I also heard a rumor that sliced weapons decay faster, but I am not sure if this is factual.
Regardless, you're 'overcharging' the weapon. That wears it out faster. If there was no consequence to using a powerup we'd always just have them in, right?

Yep - powerups, spamming specials(esp. PMD and overcharge) decay weapons equally in proportion to their stats.

Sliced weapons allegedly decay faster, but my Sliced LLC has only lost a few points of condition over the last few weeks despite being used as my "lair buster" with Lightning Single 2.
My sliced Geo pistol, however, gets down below 50% condition after about 6-9 hours of constant use. Yes, I usually have a Tuned Muzzle on it and I do use specials frequently (mostly Low Blow, Pistol Whip, Stopping Shot and Last Ditch).
So if a slice contributes to the decay, it doesn't contribute much, even when specials are used. I really think the biggest factor is powerups.
I write it off as the cost of doing business. A muzzle that adds 33% more damage means I can finish a mission 33% faster - ultimately meaning 33% more income. I've got really good weapon repair kits and the WS who made the gun fixes it for me when needed (thanks Starik!). Soon enough it will give up the ghost for good, but I figure the increased damage output from the powerups ultimately repays the investment in the weapon after only a few hours of missions.
I used to have a pre-nerf Scatter that was probably Krayt based on stats, and it served me faithfully from Novice all the way to Master BH and all the hunting in between. It needed frequent repair, but even with the constant use of powerups it was still serviceable after months of use.
Some people lovingly protect a weapon, refusing to use powerups or even to have it sliced for fear of burning out the gun too soon. I say that such people are shortchanging themselves - the increased performance is well worth the decay.
