Thread: Do defenses stack?

If I have for example, Defensve Vs. Knockdown +50 from both Fencer and Pistoleer, do I get +100? Or do I have to use the weapon associated with that skill box (sword/pistol) to have the bonus, meaning that I'll have +50 anyhow.

Yes. Every single skill that is the same name as another skill stacks.
Ranged defense, melee defense, dodge, counterattack, and block all cap out at 125 though, no matter what it says on your skills screen.

The Pistoleer FAQ notes that dodge is no longer stackable. Is that confirmed?

In another post it is said all defenses stack except dodge, counter attack and block.
Can somebody confirm this please?

Dodge stacks with itself. as in, you can use fencer mods to get your dodge up to +125. Dodge only works with a fencer weapon or pistol equipped.
counterattack only works with a carbine or 2 handed weapon equipped
block only works if you have a pike or rifle equipped.
so each of those stack with themselves. but do not work together. so if you have a pistol equppied, you will not counterattack, you will dodge.
these three all cap at +125. but you can bump that up with food and squad leader mods.
Now, melee defense, ranged defense, and state defenses do stack no matter what. thats why pistoleer and fencer are so popular to dabble in. good state defences. As far as I know, these have a soft cap of +125. anything over 125 doesnt do much, but it may help.
also, for pistoleer, as far as I can tell, there is no cap on accuracy. but I may be wrong.
speed caps at 100. you can go over 100, but it doesnt mean anything. once you are at +100, you will fire any pistol at the speed cap of 1.0. even when using specials.
thats about all the major questions.
