I'm considering getting Novice Commando for the Launcher Pistol Certification so that I can do Blast damage.

If there are any others who have done this, is there much benefit in having this damage type? What kinds of creatures do you use the Launcher Pistol on?

Honestly I just got commando last weekend specifically for the Launcher so i could do reasonable blast damage to Night Sisters... they tend to have 100% resist to all but blast or kinetic.

Now ill probably get flamed for doing so... but it works! plus i do every damage type save for cold and Lightsaber (of course)

I'm a Master Commando and working toward Master pistols, and yes it can be worth it, because of the Blast damage. But you can kite them, the swordsman can't

the applications are fairly limited, and it's usefulness doesn't seem to justify the skillpoint investment, but blowing crap up is fun

I picked it up just to handle Nightisters. I highly recommend it.

I used to have novice commando just for the launcher pistol to, but in my everyday use it was crap perhaps even worse then that

But darn its fun to kite people with it in duels, confuse them abit

One advantage of getting Novice Commando for the Launcher Pistol is that the Launcher pistol gives Heavy Weapon XP.

This could come in handy if you:

1. want to limit you village trips because you can cap both Heavy Weapon xp and Pistol XP

2. want to do a prof. that needs Heavy Weapon XP

Hehe, I tooremember being confused by that term when I first heard it. Kiting is where you run away from the target, with the target chasing you from a safe distance (like a kite when you are trying to make it fly), as you shoot it while you are running. Works great against melee masters

I used to be a BH/Pistoleer/Novice Commando i still have actually a bunch of Pre-Nerf Krayt Launcher pistols damage sliced and they were great for Jedi and for Nightsisters. For PvP its good because it lags them and at least the prenerf ones do good damage. If your on radiant i think this one shop on talus sells em still starting at the upper 200's unsliced sorry can't remember name.

I suggest you pick it up. It can be very helpful against NS and PVP where ur nme is wearing stun resistant armor. they are more suseptible to blast damage. and most people will not expect pistols to have a blast damage weapon. use that or the striker pistol.

just get a gorax shard'd striker pistol with a damage slice and dmg pup, more interesting or tripping at least lol
