Thread: Various noob questions on gunslinging

*waves to everyone*
I've actually played for a little while now, but for a long time my main game was Ultima Online, and hence I'm still an SWG noob.
1. Anyone have a link or an article or a post or something with a nice description of the weapon system? I notice people talking about finding nice weapons (even pistols!) as loot. Also people talking about crafted pistols having some special properties, somehow. I've tried to look on the official site, and searching the knowledge d-base, to no avail. (The latter keeps giving me information on EQ.)
2. What pistol or pistols should I carry around when I'm not certain what I'm going to be doing. I.e., what are the best all-around default weapons, if there are any. (Example: When I played Ultima Online as an archer, there were 2 bows that I carried around when I wasn't sure what I'd be running into. Between those 2, I was pretty much ready for anything.)
3. Can anyone offer thoughts and/or advice on the following template? I'd be eventually looking at doing some PvP, and in the meantime just generally fighting NPCs and creatures for money and resources.
As written, I think this template is impossible, i.e., it'd go over the skill limit, but I'm not sure how badly it'd go over (the Stratics skills calc never works quite right for me).
Marksman: 4 4 4 4 (only so I could have BH)
Pistoleer: 4 4 4 4
Bounty Hunter 0 0 4 0 (the pistol line)
Smuggler: 0 0 4 0 (the pistol line)
Medic: 4 4 4 0
Brawler: 4 0 0 0 (only so I could have Smug. and basic slicing for containers)
Scout: 4 0 0 0 (only so I could have BH)
If the math doesn't work out, I'd just take it as far as I could......Like for example, maybe BH 0 0 3 0 or Medic 3 3 3 0 or something like that.

Not counting medic
Master Pistoleer
Master Scout
BH 0040
Smuggler 0040
Scout 4000
Master marksman
Leaves you with only 12 SP, novice medic costs 15, i would instead invest in COmmando Novice for the luancher pistol.
I carry, a modified Republic Blaster, a Striker, a GEO, FWG5,a Scatter Pistol, a Luancher Pistol, and a DE10. All are player made and are sliced 30%. This covers kinetic, heat, stun, energy, and acid.
