Wouldn't fencer and pistoleer go better together? They both have two bleeding attacks that you can stack for a total of 4 bleeds, and both do most damage to the Health bar. Just a thought.

If you plan to solo elders i suggest you get master brawler, and also atleast novice medic to go with teh swords.
and make sure to cap 2h melee speed

Well the problems are that both attack different pools and have different secondary defenses. While you may want to pick up the the Tech tree for the awesome state defenses, Swordsman and Pistoleer just don't mess too well together (in a stacker sense).
Pistoleer is nice beacuse of it's varied damage types and state defenses, but if your goal is to solo NSs, I'd probably go with:
M Swords
xx4x Pistols
M Brawler
With the points left over you can grab 4xx1 TKA and 214x Medic.
If you're only grabbing Pistoleer for the defenses (since Swords is what you'll be using to attack), then just grab the defense tree. The Dodge and Acc/Speed trees are useless since they don't even work when you're swinging your PH.
