Any opinions on how important the Ranged tree is? Should i hold on to it?

What ranged tree are you talking about? If you mean Ranged Support from the Marksman profession, I'd highly recommend it. With so many people stacking their defense vs. knockdown with thak and all that, a Posture Down move is often more effective... if you can somehow couple it with a Dizzy move. Either way, Suppression Fire is really handy to have, and Tumble moves allow you to change your posture (even while Dizzy) w/o falling down.

Probably would be helpful to know the rest of your template...but for the most part I usually dont keep the ranged support tree...

You don't need Ranged Support as a prereq for Novice Pistoleer??

Sorry, should have been more precise. I was talking about the Ranged Support line in the Marksman tree. My template is a 3/3/4/3 Pistoleer and 1/1/2/2 Doctor so far. I guess I'd kind of forgotten about the suppression fire and tumbling. You make a good point though, I'll keep it in mind.

Many thanks!

How about Ranged Accuracy and Speed? (FS) how does that improve a pistoleer/bh? (and maybe melee defences)

i've been curious of this too. I've heard that if u are capped that the extra pts from fs don't add to your accuracy or speed. Anyone know fer sure?

No, you don't need that line. All you need is the Maksman pistols line.
