Thread: My First Duel

Heyas!

Yesterday I had my first duel! It wasnt planned, just chatting with a friend and I think he challenged just because I told him I had spent all his money way just to piss him off.

He was a big bad arse wookie and wearing his full battle armor, me a lowly Master Artisan without any armor.

As soon as I typed "/duel" I hit the Melee Defense key and knocked him down. Placed a few bleeders on him and then got wacked by that huge LLC (direct mind hit as well... ouch!)

Thing was after a minute I was up and recovered while he was filled with wounds. I mean he said he got about 100 wounds just from a couple of shots, plus he was bleeding for quite a while.

So here it is. My first Duel experience and I must say my renewed pleasure in the Pistoleer way of life.

To all those who still thread around with their DX2 like me (or DE 10 if you can) HAIL!

PISTOLEER ROCKS!

There are, it has been said, two types of people in the world. There are those who, when presented with a glass that is exactly half full, say: this glass is half full. And then there are those who say: this glass is half empty. The world belongs, however, to those who can look at the glass and say: What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

I'd be interested to know whether the two of you were buffed or not.

I have a theory that in an unbuffed duel, Pistoleer owns.

thats proberly because people never put any stat points into health. Everything goes into mind and any left overs into action, so pistoleers can just easily kill unbuffed people before they can have a chance to heal.

That's a good point. I wonder if players will be allowed a free stat migration once the CURB comes out, since the whole HAM system is apprently being revamped.

Probably not. Migrating your HAM stats doesn't take any amount of time like changing your template does; you just need to find an ID. 'Sides, the Devs can't do everything for us.

I see your point, but the entire concept of HAMs is going to change, so virtually all combat professionals will need to re-migrate their stats. I guess we'll see.

Uthyr, do you have Investigation III in your temp?

No, I'm BH 0040 (no Jedi hunting for me, hehe). Why do you ask?

Just curious as to how popular a passtime Jedi-hunting is to Die-Hard All-Pistol BHs like me.

Ah, I understand. Well, reading the Bounty Hunter forum as I sometimes do, I get the sense that ranged bounty hunters (including pistoleers and carbineers) are not the preferred template for hunting Jedi. Having never tried hunting Jedi though (and having no interest in trying because I have little interest in PvP), I really couldn't say from personal experience.

I suppose this discussion is better suited to the Bounty Hunter forum, so I'll stop my digression now.

rehn,

bh is alot of fun. i am 3/4/4/0 in bh and master pistoleer and can do pretty well against jedi. most of the fun is in stalking your bounty. i highly suggest bh inv 3 along withbh pistols. i am a pistoleer through and through and try to use my pistoleer specials as much as my bh specials. good luck in whatever your decision may be.
