Ok I'm confused still on how the Player speed skills I gain in the Bounty Hunter and Pistoleer skill tree affect my weapon speed or delay?

Is there any way to track exactly how fast I'm firing and howlong the delay is other than looking at the combat menu and counting the delay between pauses in firing?

Also what is the point when your speed is maxed out? Not the number I know you can go as high as 139 I think but when does speed stop effecting the delay?

Finally after all of this if you have a high speed number what is the highest # your gun speed can be at to have it fire at 1 delay?

Every +10 speed takes off .1 from the weapon speed

This is NOT info from personal tests - I'm repeating what I've read on these forums, and apologize for not remembering the names of the people who deserve credit:

According to posts, minimum weapon delay is 1.0, but that's the only cap. It's been posted that a pistol speed skill over 100 DOES continue to increase your pistol firing speed (as the previous poster said, 10 pts of skill gives a 0.1 weapon speed (delay) decrease).

This is completely untrue, the speed mod does NOT give a flat x sec speed modifier but it works on %. And that's easily checked with the use of rifles. I have a 6.4s tusken rifles and at +15 speed mod it was taking me 43.6s to do 9 autoattacks, when my speed mod went to +20, the time for 9 autoattacks was decreased to 41s flat.

That is also seen easily by master rifleman with +90 or more speed mod who report that they can fire several times in 2s with a rifle of 5s speed.

According to more in game experimentation by myself, I have deducted that up to +30 speed mod (I cannot test higher yet), each +5 speed gives a -5% attack speed modifier on the weapon.

It is possible that Pistol Speed works differently than Rifle Speed, but I have no idea.

How are you doing your timings Flyojumper? Stopwatch and combat window messageswould be rather prone to error, no?

I don't think pistol speed/rifle speed/carbine speeds/etc work differently from one another. The only thing I can think of is that there is a cap on attack speed and that pistols because of their lower base atk speed tend to hit that cap faster. A player with +120 pistol speed and a gun with speed 2.2s could conclude that because his attacks fire every 1.0s each +10 reduces atk by 0.1s but % wise he could have effectively capped the atk speed on that particular gun at let's say +80 mod...

Again, I tested up until +30 on different types of weapons and they are all very very close to +5 mod=-5% atk speed. I know that this sort of improvement shouldn't apply up to +100 or the atk speed would tend to 0. However I am pretty confident in my calculations.

I now use 11attacks (which is 10 speed delay between bursts) and a wrist watch to mesure the times of auto attacks and specials and I have a very very small margin of error when using the combat window. I make the measurements several times and if I say I have a value of 43.8 thats because I got something like 43.7-43-9 on all measurements and I'm never above or below 0.2s of the same value, I am precise and I take into accounts over 10 auto attacks or special attacks when I want to compute the special attacks time multipliers.
