Thread: Which Tree in Pistoleer is best to go up?
I have Bounty Hunter pistol 4 and Smuggler Dirty Fighting 4, I would like to use my remaining points in pistoleer and am not sure which tree/s to put them in.
Because of the BH pistol tree I have good pistol speed (80)and accuracy (110), and because of the Smuggler dirty fighting tree I have good specials (delay, knowckdown, power)
So, with 27 points remaining I'm asking your opinion on which tree/s to put my skills in. I was thinking to get stances 2, to max out my pistol speed and then I can go up 3 boxes in another tree. Which should I get dodge (tactics)or accuracy (marksmanship)? Or should I completely reconsider and go all the way up one tree?
Please help me out, its a hard decision ![]()

Well you can either get some of the defense or you can max out speed its really your choice.
It's really a waste to go past the first speed box if you have BH pistol 4. +91 will get you to the cap with a scatter pistol even using last ditch. Even a dx2 or republic blaster will shoot last ditch at the cap with +91 unless they're really crappy. 2.5 speed or faster is all you need.
So I'd say box 1 there, and then go up techniques and/or grips... dodge seems to really be nice since the patch.
I personally would go up the techniques tree for the +50 kd defense. But the grips tree would also be nice cause dodge is great now.
I'm thinking now that Dodge is working correctly based on early reports, Pistol Tactics looks pretty darn attractive. Pistol Special Abilities sounds nice too, but at my rate of combat heavy play, gathering the Combat XP would take and eternity (as opposed to the "real long time" of the Pistol XP options.) Or maybe Marksmanship, which looks kinda vanilla on the surface, but those skill bonuses might be pretty nice in practice.

I wouldn't bother with Tactics just for Dodge, especially since you're PvE only. In PvE you generally are fighting melee-only creatures and your strategy is to keep them at a distance so they can't hurt you. Dodge is only going to help you if you mess up and let the creature attack you at melee range.
Your best bet is to go up the speed line. Otherwise just go up accuracy and use BodyShot2.
well you don't need the trickshot line since you have last ditch. I'd say get your speed up a little and then go for the marksmanship. Pistoleers get nice accuracy bonuses. Like "accuracy while running" ETC that could be of use to you.
You are going to be one bad pistol using mo fo.
bump.... still trying to finalize my decision, I think grips is better for the dodge sinceI already have 110 acuracy... but i'm getting mixed thoughts and wanna make sure. Keep those wonderful opinion coming! ![]()
