Yeah, it's a goofy looking weapon, that's for sure. You know that the prop from the movie was made from a grill lighter? That's why the barrel looks the way it does.

Not complaining, because I'm glade we've got a good pistol like the Republic Blaster to use, but I thought that it was supposed to be a light duty, security forces type pistol. Yet in the game it's a fairly heavy damage, AR1, front line type of weapon. I would think that they have the stats for the Republic Blaster and the DL44 reversed.

It was taking out droids with one shot each...not saying much for the movies, but that doesn't seem like a low-powered weapon to me. Also, if you are a queen, and you have "emergency blasters" stashed around the Theed palace, would you have wimpy CDEFs or a kickass weapon to defend your royal life with?

I think later on there aren't a lot of republic blasters in the movies (RL reason, they didn't have them in the late 70s, early 80s as props) becuase the Republic is pretty much gone and no one makes them "out on the fringes" where most of the SW trilogy takes place. None of the original trilogy took place near Coruscant (the center of the galactic civilization it seems), so no Republic Blasters for people farther out in the galaxy.

It just looks so goofy man! Our best pistolas are a clunky looking DX2 and a Rebel Turkey Baster! The FWG5 is decent though, kinda looks like a .45. I like the idea of switching the stats from the Rebel Turkey gun and the DL44 though. DL44's look and sound awesome, but they don't do enough damage for me to think about really using one (being as I'm almost a master pistoleer). Besides according to the weapons books aren't DL44's supposed to penetrate stormtrooper armor?

Watch yourself, hest, or you'll get flamed for wanting "pretty" over getting MTPS working... Pistoleers apparently don't want something cool to watch, they just wanna whine about specials.

I love how it looks! DX2 is ugly, but the Republic Blaster is great!

Republic Blaster is a dissappointment in the looks department. I can't stand its appearance.

When it comes to damage tho it dishes out quite a bit.

I just wish it looked better.
