Hello
I am slowly becoming a Pistoleer. So far I have used a FWG5 Iv gotten from the start but it kinda starts to get used down. Two days ago I started go hunting Banthas and saw that some of them had up to 50% protection on Heat, but Acid was good against them, so I decided to try find a DX2 Pistol and buy that. Now my problem is that it is even worse to kill them with than my FWG5. Im planning on getting 3-4 different Pistols over time, and have a good range of different damage types, but I dont know what I shoul be looking after. E.g. is Speed 2.5 Damage 103-162 Wound 40.2% (what dose this stat by the way) and cost 44 62 35 okay stats, or have I just been cheated from here to Dodge?
Im not looking for anything über, just some "good" solid handwork. I dont have millions but I guess that I soon would have close to 500.000 creds, is this not anywhere enough to get just one or two decent pistols (Im on Lowca).
Also anyone who knows where there are a good Pistol Vendor on Lowca, someone who actully have Pistols in stock
)
Cheers
/Jesper

Every usable pistol in the profession has a use.
Not every pistol can be used the same per se.
Out of all the pistols in the profession you'll primarily use 2 - 3 of them. While using the others relatively rarely.
It's important you match up the pistols to the vunerable and low resists of whatever your fighting. You also have to remember pistols such as the DX2 (and all the armor piercing pistols) have horrible accuracy and must be fired at very close range.
Pistols such as the FWG5 simply have better accuracy modifiers which allow you to even be fairly accurate while on the run.But as you have noticed not everything is good prey for your FWG5 due to resists.
Try to get used to using the DX2 at close range, get some speed or damage powerups if you can too. Pistoleer is a great profession in terms of damage types.
As far as pricing, unless you are shopping for a tissue enhanced weapon, or a rare no longer produceable weapon. It should not cost you a fortune to by yourself a variety of pistols. Pistols are some of the least resource intensive items in the game. 100k ought to be able to buy you all of hte pistols available to the profession. I would post on your own galaxy forums in search of a weaponsmith.

I play on Lowca every now and then, I dont understand how prices have stayed that high. I should make this post in the galaxies forum but oh well. anyways, someone should send a server message reminding them that mission rewards were cut in half a long time ago... if the prices have gone down since then, all I have to say is... I'm so sorry LOL. Not for being wrong, but I feel sorry for you guys who pay 18k for a regular weapon. I cant find a normal set of composite anywhere, only 3x layered for 100k a peice.
oh yeah, pistols. Sorry for the rant
The thing about pistoleers, is that they are supposed melee busters. The FWG is meant for the Smugglerand his/her need for accuracy. Though of course this doesnt keep me from using it
... wait a second, im a smuggler, but you get the point. we get +45 melee defense total at master so guess what, your supposed to be the tank! Just kidding. anyway, the DX2 is meant to be fired at melee range and it works **edit** well when you do just that. but the above poster was right, we get a great selection of dmg types, the only stun ranged weapon and heat/energy/acid to boot.the Republic blaster and DX2 have armor piercing to boot.

On flurry I can purchase any gun for under 20k, except for uber krayts and pre-nerfs.
I can purchase a pre-nerf, pre-sliced FWG5 for roughly 50-100k. sample stats... 1.3 70-207 or 2.8 80-255
Krayts I can get for roughly 200-500k, maybe more depending on how uber.
Additional comment - If you have made roughly 500k in under a month of playing, congratz! It took me about 5 months and a peko peko albatross feather ( instant 400k ) to reach that! lol

If you are asking what an uber pistol is, its not uber unless it can be powered up to over 550 or so max dmg.
Any pistol is ok to grind XP with, depending on the resists of what you are shooting.

I use to use a fwg5 but now that republic blasters are fixed this has been the best gun damage wise IMO however it lacks the speed of a fwg or scout. If you want a good acid pistol go scatter but you have to be a bh to use it if not use DX2. The best pistols currently is republic blasters but each pistol serves its own purpose, FWG is a good gun vs mobs that are weak vs heat damage.

I use a DX2 125 - 200 damage at 2.2 speed ...decent in my opinion...and minimum damage is pretty good for those damage mitigation people ![]()
I have a tangle pistol 80 - 130 damage , 3.2 speed, I just use that on composite armor wearers and tough creatures with stun resist.
I also have a DL-44 pistol 70 - 199 damage , 2.0 speed....I pretty much just use this if I am fighting easy creatures and don't want to lose durability on my other guns ![]()
